Noah's Ark

A long, long time ago God was very sad to see how badly people were treating his beautiful world.

He asked Noah to build a great big Ark and collect two of every type of bird and animal. God was planning a great big flood, but everyone on the Ark would be safe.

It rained and rained, and the water covered the Earth. After forty days it stopped.

A dove was set free to see if the flood had gone and whether those in the Ark could step out onto the land.

The dove came back with a leaf in it's beak. Everyone was happy. The land was dry. Trees and plants were growing again. They could all leave the Ark.

Everyone said 'thankyou' to God. God told Noah that he would never send another flood like that. As a sign of his promise he put a rainbow in the sky.

A rainbow reminds us of the promise you make as a Rainbow Guide.
