GEORGE MORGAN ALVIS
George Morgan Alvis, born 28th March 1837, died 11th May 1867, married in the Dutch Reformed Church, Wolvendaal, Colombo, on the 23rd February 1864 Joseline Sophia Raffel, born 2nd May 1845, daughter of Jacob Henricus Raffel and Antonetta Emelia Van CUYLENBURG. (D.B.U. Journal, Vol. V11, page 80)
Children:
1. Charles Lorensz Alvis, born 23rd November 1865, died 18th October 1919. Married in the Dutch Reformed Church, Wolvendaal, Colombo, on the 11th of December 1890 Mary Harriet JOSEPH. She was born on the 5th September 1864 and died on the 2nd June 1949. Daughter of Philip Edmund Joseph and Carolina Maria de VOS. (D.B.U.Journal, Vol. X11, page 25 and Vol. XXV11, page 135).

1. Colville Morton Alvis, born 27th June 1893, died 14th November 1925.
2. Isobel Linda Alvis, born 18th November 1894, married in the Dutch Reformed Church, Bambalapitiya, Sri Lanka (Ceylon) on the 5th January 1927, Percival Christopher Raffel, born 18th August 1866, widower of Mary Maude de Krester, and son of Oliver Christopher Raffel and Agnes Mary Van GEYZEL. (D.B.U. Journal, Vol. X, page 76)
3. Charles Dodwell Alvis, born 3rd August 1896 and died 26th January 1916.
4. George Neville Alvis, born 27th March 1898.
5. Henrietta Renee Alvis, born 19th July 1901.
6. Joselin Louise Alvis, born 29th December 1902.
7. Edna Marguerite Alvis, born 29th December 1902.
8. Bertha Heloise Alvis born 20th March 1905, and died 21st January 1905.
