SCIENCE EDUCATION  - TODAY AND TOMORROW
Dr. William P. Ventura
This site will be used to provide scientific information and useful tips about the many chemicals that affect all of us - both positively and negatively.

I believe that by building an information data base, a consumer is better able to understand and therefore make more informed decisions about issues involving chemicals added to, or taken from the environment.
"ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICOLOGY" is a discipline that encompasses aspects of the sciences: nutrition, pharmacology, toxicology, biology and ecology. As such, it allows studies to explore knowledge about the complex interrelationships between man and the environment.

A major challenge today (and tomorrow) is to develop a balance between the risk/benefit impact of chemicals  in natural settings while allowing development of emerging technologies.
It is important to question and develop a scientific approach before taking any chemical touted to promote health.
Many of us are interested in (or concerned about) the influence of people-made chemicals on plants BUT how many of us are interested in (or concerned about) the influence of plant-made chemicals on people.
For example, a friend suggests you should use a root, which has been claimed to enhance memory. You must immediately ask for information about which chemical(s) is/are responsible for the action claimed and ask for information about the fate of and safety of the chemical(after it is consumed).
