Day 8 Makaroa
This is the whole town of Makaroa
This was a very tight spot... what we call cosie camping. Thanks to 6 local families, They put on one great BBQ spread which we cleaned out all their freezers. Thats one thing that NZ has and its good meat. Had the Girls thinking all night and scared out of their wits. Made them beleive that there were giant rats and Possums in the area. So no sneaking food in ya tents ladies..... So late at night I grabbed the rake from the truck and scratched the side of their tent. The  screams could be heard to Timbucku. Had to laugh... The girls swore to get me back but never did.
This is one day that the Vollies always look forward to.  It's a day that we get to let our hair down. And Bicycle Victoria really show their appreciation of the work we do. It's like one big happy family function and all have a good night. There is always a theme for the night, and this time it was come dressed as something of the letter "P"... You name it we thought of it.

Bit of a shower or two had fallen according to the locals. so the tent stays in the bag for a night Get to sleep in a bed tonight. That matress is looking better by the minute.
