Day 10 Fox Glacier
Having to split the campsite in several areas due to site problems. (major down pour the night before... some shower or two... Makes you wonder what they call a down pour???) Ground was totally drenched, so having to mark out areas that would be safe to camp on for Riders and Vollies left us no space for the catering tent and showers.  Thanks to the brain power of David (one of our Truckie's) we managed to split the site in several area's. Ment a bit of moving around to get to things. The catering crew were hard hit here by having to cart meals in the pouring rain, They worked their guts out throughout the night never stopping till all were fed. Great work Simon and crew for putting up with this. and Thanks David for organising the areas as well.
Day 11 Hari Hari
Now we were getting close to the end of the ride, and you could see the pain on people's faces. Here we lost one of our team members, leaving us to pick up the pieces. This was never a problem with the team as we all worked throughout the day knowing that at the end of the shift that cold beer would be sitting there waiting for you....mmmmmm beer!!!. This site was HUGE!!, never needed to cramp anyone in at all. The town was just down the road and there was plenty of places to get a hot meal. Look like my turn for the bakery run today.... This was a good time to get some greenstone as Harihari and Hokitika has some of the best to offer. Was also an excuse to check out the closest bar as well.
