Capricorn's Obsession of the Week Every week or so, I have a new obsession. A cd, book, or something, and this is where you can find out just how crazy I am. |
Come Away With Me- Norah Jones - This CD is a really good one. If you like Sarah McLachlan, or India.Arie, you'll definitely love this CD. She sings and plays piano, both extremely well. Her sound is a mix of soul, jazz, and folk-pop. My favorite songs are "Don't Know Why", "Feelin the Same Way", and, well, I love all the songs on the CD. It's a great CD. I love it. I haven't taken it out of my CD player since I got it! Chariot- Gavin DeGraw- This CD is amazing. He has such a great voice, and mixes the right amount of poplike songs with soulful "chill" songs. I first got into it because the song "Follow Through" is on the commercial for the new TV series Skin. I'm definitely not sorry that I bought it! |

Books |
Feeling Sorry for Celia- Jaclyn Moriarty - This book is written entirely in letter form. Letters to and from the main character, Elizabeth. Her best friend, Celia runs away quite often, as she just has when the book opens. She begins writing to a girl, Christina, through her English Class, and they get to be good friends. WOW. I just made the book sound really boring. But trust me, it's not, and it's totally worth reading. Savannah Blues- Mary Kay Andrews- This is a totally awesome book, set in Savannah, and the main character is Weezie (Eloise) Foley. There is a TOTALLY hot chef, a murder, a bitch (actually several of them) Love, antiques, a nasty scheme...all of the above make this book fabulous! It's definitely worth reading!! The Parker Grey Show- Kristin Buckley- Parker Grey's best friend, and roomie, Lil, has been kidnapped. Her boyfriend, the very rich, very old, and very married Mr. Smith doesn't want anything to do with it,but agrees to supply cash. Meanwhile, Parker is dealing with their new huge (stolen from their downstairs neighbor) flatsreen TV, "M" and her sudden need to write on their walls. All in all, it's great!! The Stephanie Plum Books (all 8)- Janet Evanovich- Stephanie Plum is a bounty hunter, kind of like a cop, and she has a totally interesting life. Two uber sexy guys, and a kick-ass job make for awesome books!! At first i was skeptical, but once I started reading, I was hooked! It's totally worth buying all of the books! |
Movies |
High Fidelity - Starring John Cusack, with Jack Black. Wow. I love this movie, even though I still havent seen the end! Haha. Jack Black is AWESOME as the slacker....as usual. John Cusack, is really cool, and I love his character. For those who don't know the story, It's basically about a record store owner (John Cusack) who just got dumped, and is trying to figure out why he is always getting dumped. Plus he makes lots of lists. School of Rock- Jack Black, Joan Cusack, etc. This movie is sooo kickass! Jack Black plays a slacker guitarist in a failing band, who needs some money, so he decides to take on a substituite teaching job. He teaches the kids how to play musical intsruments, and forms a band. The drummer is hot, and he's 14, though he looks 10. Freddy Jones is his name, in life, it's Kevin Alexander Clark HOT! Bend it Like Beckham- Kiera Knightly, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and damnit, I forgot her name. But it's a great movie, and it's got an awesome soundtrack! Basically, Jess is Indian and really good at soccer, but her parents won't let her play, they don't think it's feminine. But she joins a team anyway, and has a shot at making a pro team. Jonathan Rhys Meyers adds the dosage of hotness needed, and the British accents are sooo awesome! |
