The Bands weekend in the Kingdom was not all competition, as they along with 9 other invited bands got the chance to entertain the festival crowds in Tralee. The band performed two street displays on both Saturday and Monday and also had the honour of leading the Melbourne, Washington DC and Ros Fodhla roses as part of the rose parade on the Saturday night, this culminated in performing live in front of Marty Whelan and Co. on the main stage, an event which was filmed by RTE.
However it is worth noting that the band didn’t need to travel to Tralee to meet the Roses, on the previous Monday in Clonegal, Tuesday in Borris, and Wednesday in Tullow the band had the privilege of performing for the Carlow floral pride festival, an event which in Tullow was attended by the Roses. An excellent week and weekend was had by all, fun was had, friends were made, and hard work was repaid in the bands excellent showing at the All Ireland Fleadh Ceoil.
