This is the story of a guy, Joel (Jim Carrey), who discovers that his long-time girlfriend, Clementine (Kate Winslet), has undergone a psychiatrist's(Tom Wilkinson) experimental procedure in which all of her memory of Joel is removed, after the couple has tried for years to get their relationship working fluidly. Frustrated by the idea of still being in love with a woman who doesn't remember their time together, Joel agrees to undergo the procedure as well, to erase his memories of Clementine. The film, which takes place mostly within Joel's mind, follows his memories of Clementine backwards in time as each recent memory is deleted, and the procedure then goes on to the previous one, which is likewise seen, and then erased. Once the process starts, however, Joel realizes he doesn't really want to forget Clementine, so he starts smuggling her away into parts of his memory where she doesn't belong... which leads him fighting to remember the women he loves.

The latest adaption from book to movie by Stephen Kind is Secret Window. It takes place in the New England where Mort Rainey (Johnny Depp) a writer just coming off of a troublesome divorce with his ex-wife, Amy (Maria Bello), finds himself stalked at his remote lake house by a psychotic stranger (Turturro) who claims Mort stole his story and changed the ending. As Mort is terrorized by the psychotic fan he enlists the help of a friend to help protect himself. But the danger may be closer to them all then anybody expects.

In Walking Tall, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson plays Chris Vaughn, a retired soldier who returns to his hometown to make a new life for himself, only to discover his wealthy high school rival, Jay Hamilton (Neal McDonough), has closed the once-prosperous lumber mill and turned the town's resources towards his own criminal gains. The place Chris grew up is now overrun with crime, drugs, and violence. Enlisting the help of his old pal Ray Templeton (Johnny Knoxville), Chris gets elected sheriff and vows to shut down Hamilton's operations. His actions endanger his family and threaten his own life, but Chris refuses to back down until his hometown once again feels like home.

This is the story of a teenager named Leland (Gosling), faced with issues of morality and hope under difficult circumstances, who is arrested and sent to juvenile hall, after he kills an autistic child out of sympathy (sort of like an emotional euthanasia). Once there, he meets a teacher, Mr. Pearl (Cheadle), who helps him figure out the reasons why he committed the crime, as we also see the ramifications of the murder have on his community, his family, and that of the victim.

The star rating system is my final decision on how good the movie was. I will rarely give out four stars to a movie, It would have to be Lord of the Rings or something to get that award. Three stars is still a must see, Two stars is still worth seeing, but don't expect to come away inspired or truly amazed. One star means that you wont be missing anything. No stars means that I haven't seen it yet, so I can't give a final decision.

Well the Academys have come and gone and Lord of the Rings Return of the King made a clean sweep. R.O.T.K. broke and shattered many barriers this year at the award show. Including a dead tye with Titanic and Ben Hur for the most Academys ever won at a show. However R.O.T.K. was the first movie in history to win in every category it was nominated for. Including Best Picture and Best Director among others. R.O.T.K. was also the first fiction movie to ever win an award. Best Actor went to Sean Penn for his role in 'Mystic River'. Best Actress went to Charlize Theron for her role in 'Monster'.
