Chauboy's Home on the Net

Salutations and welcome to Eric Chau's webpage! Chances are that you are here because you are an acquaintance of mine and I sent you the link to this place earlier and you've got nothing better to do. For those of you who have stumbled into this site all by yourself, you're probably wondering just what exactly is this site about.

Good question. I'm not 100% sure myself. From the looks of it, I think this site may turn into yet another "here is a brief summary of who I am, what I am currently doing, and what my interests are". So please. Try to contain your excessive joy and delight. It's more than I can bear.

You're probably thinking right now, "great, that's exactly what we need; yet another sarcastic idiot with a website who thinks he's funny". Well... you've got me there. There does seem to be an obscene amount of people like that on the net, eh?

Alright, before you all start heading towards the exits, how about I offer you this; this website will also serve as journal of some sort, chronicling my stay in Japan. I will be uploading pictures of the various places I will be visiting in Japan, so be sure to come back every once in awhile to see what's new. That sound good to you? That's all I've got to offer. If you don't like it, then tough. You can go visit some other site that's cluttering the Internet.

Okay, now that we got all that out of the way, let me start off with a brief explanation of why "Chauboy". Well, as some of you may know, for my post-secondary education, I went to the University of Toronto. For my first and second year, I lived in residence at New College in Wetmore Hall, on the top and fourth floor in Wilson House. For some reason, some of my friends became accustomed to calling me "Chauboy". So when came time to purchase a URL for myself and seeing as how some of my first picks were already taken, I settled on http://www.chauboy.com/. However, I managed to get http://www.ericchau.com/ now so it's a moot point. Sorry for wasting your time reading this.

Having said all of that, please keep in mind that certain parts of this website may be very graphic intensive, especially if you wander into the photo gallery (duh). So if you've got an insanely slow connection, I laugh and mock and ridicule you.

The last point that I would like to bring up is that all of the photos on this website belong to me, unless otherwise specified. As a result, I would greatly appreciate it if you did not steal them or use them without my permission. I am a reasonable person and will most likely allow you to use them if you ask me.

Please note that I said photos. Pictures like the Gem Fighter characters on this page are obviously not mine and are copyrighted to their respective owners (in this case, Capcom).

Hmmm. Now that I think about it, it does seem kind of hypocritical for me to be requesting that people ask me before using my photos while here I am, using Capcom's pictures without asking them. Uh, well Capcom is a big company that makes great games and I'm sure that they wouldn't mind. Yeah, that's it.

Now with all of that out of the way, please feel free to peruse this website at your own leisure.
Hope your stay is an enjoyable one and please feel free to sign my guestbook.
If you are going to contact me, please leave at least an email address or a name.
It's annoying on my part to receive a message but have no clue who it is from or how to reply back.

Updates - journal entries updated regularly... sorta

7/14/03 Finally got my cable modem working with my laptop.
6/24/03 Just a note that I will be heading back to Canada on June 27th.
I won't have Internet access until I get back to Canada so don't expect any updates until then.
Well, not like I update this site all that often.
5/27/03 Ugh, really should update more.
Anyways, some more Tokyo photos.
4/7/03 Woo hoo, I finally updated the site.
Put up the first of my Tokyo photos. Have at them.
1/26/03 Ericchau.com is now online. I will slowly be moving everything over there now and I'm back to Geocities for hosting.
