Jaden's Horrible Night
By Nicole
I am a great student at Rydell High. I receive straight A’s, never get into any trouble. I am active in both cheerleading and dance team. My greatest goals for this year are prom queen and valedictorian. My parents are very proud of my achievements. The worst thing about me is I brag on how I am not scared of anything.

One day after school I was walking home when I heard Jasmine yell my name.

  “Jaden!”

  “Huh.”

  “Hey girl, wait up.”

“Ok, come on,” I said, rolling my eyes.

“Hey Jaden, yesterday Michael and I were watching Freddy Krueger and it scared the heebie jeebies out of me.”

“Really,” I said laughing. “I’ve seen it a hundred times and it never scared me.”

“Come on, you must be scared of something,” she replied, trying to give me a serious look.

“No, I am not scared of anything.” As I walked away, Jasmine muttered to herself, “You just wait, Jaden Lopez, someday you will get so scared that you will never watch another scary movie again.”

That night my boyfriend came over to watch movies with me. I was glad too because I hated being alone on nights that were so dark and stormy like it was that night. Since a cornfield and a forest surrounded my house, the nearest house is three miles away. That night will be a night I remember for the rest of my life.

“Ben, I am so glad you are here with me.”

“Me too,” he said with a smile.

“I just really hate being alone out here when it rains.”

“Yeah, me too,” he replied, pulling me closer to him. There was only one thing on his mind that night.

“So what movie are we going to watch?”

“Hellraiser,” he said, echoing like a ghost in a spooky house. I have never seen this one before, so I figured I wouldn’t get scared. Ben got up and pooped the video into the VCR. We were so drowned in the movie that we hardly paid any attention to anything else until I heard a noise that startled me.

“Ben, what was that?” I asked, as my eyes got big.

  “What was what?” he replied.

  “That noise,” I said alertly.

“What noise?” he said with a chuckle.

“It is not funny. I really hear something. It came from upstairs,” I said, beginning to feel really paranoid.
