11/12/00-  Notes on the aftermath of the previous days accident, quick mens
                basketball season preview.  Review of the mens hockey games at
                Union-RPI, Biddle is an academic All American, and quotes from
                Skip Barlow.
11/15/00- Preview of Silver Puck weenend vs Harvard and Brown, ECAC
               news.  Quick preview of the Hobart mens b-ball game, and a
               preview of the womens basketball opener against Drexel.  Womens
               hockey home opener preview, football preview for Bucknell,
               preview of the volleyball PL championships.  McDonald goes to
               the NHL, and the mens hockey team lands its first recruits.
11/19/00- Football review of the Bucknell game, and a few notes on the
               NCAA tournament, Volleyball takes 2nd at the tourney, big win for
               womens b-ball, mens b-ball crushes Hobart.  Men's hockey splits
               Silver Puck, womens hockey gets off to a great start.  Some info
               on our pros.
11/26/00- No wins... Mens hockey takes last at the SIT, womens hockey gets
               a split, as special teams fail.  The mens basketball team is battling
               out west, while the women lost to Iona.  Some PL football news,
               previews of upcoming games.
11/29/00- Detailed review of mens basketball vs Syracuse, preview of the
               womens hockey games against the Stars and Middlebury.  Quick
               mens hockey and womens b-ball preview, more notes on alumni,
               and a quote or two.
12/3/00- Detailed womens basketball review, and a review of the big womens
              hockey games.  The mens basketball team wins a thriller.  Mens
              hockey review, and Red Raiders on PL all decade teams.  And
             McDonald scores!
12/10/00- Mens basketball news.  The womens basketball team struggles.
              Mens hockey news, womens hockey rolls on, and we prepare for
              winter break.
12/17/00- The womens basketball slide continues.  Mens hockey gets killed at
               UMass, quick womens preview.  Men's basketball update and                        some Presidents Cup news.
12/24/00- Holiday stuff, website news, detailed mens hockey news, womens
               hockey preview.  The mens basketball team gets their first road
               win, and womens b-ball losses.  Christmas wishes fanpoll results.
12/31/00- Review of where the teams were for the holidays, the mens
               basketball team went south, the womens basketball went west, the
               mens hockey team was in Minnesota, and the womens team got a
               beating at the hands of a Div-1 school.  Shep is loved by the 16
               year olds, and Coach Brown talks about our first hockey recruits.
1/8/01-    The womens basketball team prepares for the lions den, the mens
               team gets ready to kick of league play as well.  Heather Murphy
               scores a pair of hat tricks, the mens hockey team beats
               Mercyhurst, but gets no Hobey Baker nominees.  The Patriot
               League is well represented in a preseason mens lacrosse poll, and a
               small feature on Colgate in the movies.
1/14/01-  The womens basketball team shows promise at Army, and the
               mens team breaks their losing streak.  The mens hockey team gets
               it's first road win, in an overtime thriller.  The womens hockey
               team had a rough weekend, getting a loss and a tie in league play.
              Our first basketball recruit was signed, and more hokcey recruiting
              news.
1/21/01- The spring semester begins, what will Colgate be like?  The mens
              hockey team continues it's ups and downs, getting a loss and a tie
              against the hated big Red.  The womens team also struggles, and
              some information about the team.  The mens basketball team takes
              another step foward, while the womens team goes back a step.
              More on recruiting, and a recount of the pep band war with Cornell.
2/1/02-  Some site and athletics news.  The mens hockey team suffers
             probaly the worst weekend of the year, and the womens team
             struggles as well.  The mens basketball team is picking up
             momentum, while the womens meltdown picks up steam.  A
             complete review of John Feinsteins visit to Colgate, and some more
             recruiting news for football and hockey.
2/4/01-  The mens hockey team can still beat Brown, but run into a hot goalie
            at Harvard, and I look at the teams playoff race and some recruiting
            needs.  The mens basketball team got a split, but lost a disapointing
            game to Holy Cross.  The womens team gave Holy Cross a run for
            their money, but came up short.  The womens hockey team gets
            back on track, and prepares for their own playoff run.  A new
            advertising slogan?  And much more recruiting news.
2/13/01- A 4 point weekend!! The mens hockey team wins at Yale and
           Princeton.  Non conference games for both basketball teams.  The
           womens hockey team picks up momentum.  Lacrosse season draws
           near, bad press for Colgate in ESPN the Magazine.
2/18/01- The mens hockey team has an off weekend, splitting a key series.
          The womens basketball team extends their losing streak, and the mens
          team falters.  The womens hockey team rolls on, and a lot of recruiting
          news for them.  Swimming and Diving, as well as indoor track and
          field have their final meets.
2/22/01- The womens hockey team prepares to head to UVM for playoff
          action, while the mens team is going to the north country to try to earn
          a playoff spot.  The womens basketball team pulls off an amazing
          comeback over Navy.  The mens game was great as well, but we lost
          in overtime.  The mens lacrosse team gets ready for Syracuse, and
         Colgate fans miss baseball.  And then a few sports quotes.
2/26/01- The womens hockey team wins in dramatic fashion.  The womens
         basketball team gains some momentum heading into the tournament. 
         Will the league tournament go to a neutral site next year?   The mens
         basketball team plays well to earn the 3 seed in the tournament.  The
         men's hockey team suffers a major setback in the north country.  The
         mens lacrosse team gets crushed by Syracuse, but it's Colgate's in the
         stands antics that proves to be the only embarrassment.  ECAC
         Survivor is a hit, and the cheerleading coach gets the Cornell bear fired.
3/1/01-  Partiot League basketball tournament previews for the men and
         women.  The womens hockey team prepares for a rematch with
         Middlebury, this time in the playoffs.  The mens hockey team has one
        chance left to make the playoffs.  And the mens lacrosse team is going
        to play Dartmouth.
3/5/01- The mens hockey team beats Union, and crawls into 10th place.  The
        womens basketball team pulls off a first round upset in Annapolis.  The
        womens hockey team losses to Middlebury to end their sesaon and
        Division 3 era.  The mens basketball team gets upset by Bucknell to end
        the season.  The mens lacrosse team losses a defensive battle to
        Dartmouth.  The mens hockey team losses to RPI at home, while SLU
        losses to Vermont, making Colgate miss the playoffs for the first time in
       20 years.  Steve Silverthorne commits to Colgate, becoming the third
       goalie on the roster, and third player from Owen Sound.  The womens
       basketball team loses to Lehigh to end the season, while I kick a little
       Lehigh butt.
3/10/01- The softball team goes south for spring break, embarking on a 18
       game road trip.  The womens lacrosse team is favored to win the league,
       and they take off on a tough road trip as well.  The mens lacrosse team
      gets killed by Cornell.  More hockey recruiting news.
3/19/01- I'm back from Canada, the softball team is playing .500 ball.  The
      womens lacrosse team also had mixed results on the road.  The mens
     lacrosse team continues to suffer.  And the spring home games start to roll
     in, with a note on how to watch games at Tyler's Field.
3/25/01- Poor fielding hurts the softball team, then they pick it up with a no
     hitter. Army helps the mens lacrosse team prove lighting usually doesn't
     strike twice.  The womens lacrosse team goes 1-1, beating Bucknell, and
     surviving many shots to the head.  Both tennis teams do well.  The SSJ
     begins thier protest of the nickname "Red Raiders."
4/10/01- The golf team continues to have a good year, the mens lacrosse
     team gets a win.  The womens lacrosse team takes a step back, and needs
     to re-evaluate the direction they are heading in.  The softball team breaks
     even in league play, and some records fall.  Both tennis teams continue to
     look good.  The track and field team has a very good meet, as the league
     meet draws closer.
4/15/01- The mens lacrosse team plays very well against Bucknell, but losses
     to the league champs.  The softball team is going through a hitting slump,
    and turn in 30 scoreless innings in a row.  The womens lacrosse team gets
    pounded on by Lafayette on senior day, and I rant about that loss, and the
    many other losses Colgate has had lately as our trophy case empties.  The
    spring football game is played, and a lot of promise is shown.  Some
    recruiting news, and softball news.
4/22/01- The golf team narrowly finishes second at the patriot league
    tournament.  The womens lacrosse team ends the season with a loss, and
    the mens team comes out on top in a battle with Lehigh.  The softball team
    ends the weekend in doubt of a playoff berth.  The mens tennis season
   ends with a strong effort.  So it's up to the womens team to get us a title.
   Colgate losses it's volleyball coach, but gains a scoreboard.  And I take my
   leave as finals approach.
