I have had a lifelong love of nature and animals. As a child I always had family pets and growing up in the Suffolk countryside, animals were always part of everyday life. I loved watching wildlife and had my first riding lessons at the age of 10.
One summer whilst studying Environmental Geoscience as an undergraduate at university I volunteered for the Atlantic Whale Foundation in Tenerife researching bottlenose dolphins and short-finned pilot whales. I think it was then that I began to realise that my future simply had to include animals and the natural world. In my final year I volunteered at Bristol Zoo in the Activity Centre, giving talks and learning how to look after and handle some more unusual animals such as reptiles and invertebrates. It was through the zoo that Reiki first came into my life and I decided to do Reiki I. I can honestly say that life hasn’t been the same since. It gave me the push I needed to kickstart my own healing journey and has been an invaluable tool for self-healing, and spiritual development too, ever since. I went on to do a Masters in Marine Mammal Science, writing my thesis on harbour porpoise bioacoustics, whilst concurrently obtaining my Reiki II qualification in 2004.
I am very happy to be studying Holistic Partnership Healing with Pauhla Whitaker. I welcome all volunteers for case studies, whether for equine Reiki, dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig or more exotic or unusual animals. All species considered so please read my animals page and get in touch.
I am also developing my skills in animal communication and hope to offer these skills when they are well tuned, so watch this space!
My studies and my own healing path have left me with a particular interest in animal behaviour (non-human and human animals). I hope to further develop my knowledge and skills in this area too. I would be happy to exchange Reiki for training opportunities in animal behaviour or animal training.
