A young girl with sparkling aqua eyes observed the unique and mysterious woman in front of her, while she pushed a lock of black hair from her face. The young ones’ gaze shifted down to her own feet, then back to the woman before her. Only this woman was much different from her. She, instead of legs and feet, had an original body structure, consisting mainly like that of a fish. “Where’s Mama...?" questioned the girl nervously. “I do not know child... But you are safe wist me.” Riddel walked quickly down the worn trail of Fossil Valley being careful not to lose her step, today there was a slight breeze, and as she walked, her vibrant blue hair fanned freely about behind her like a silky cloak, as today she had decided against wearing her head piece that kept it in place. In her right hand she clasped her prism staff, just for safety precautions. The breeze blew again, this time a little stronger, her form fitting intense green dress, long in the length and arms with a unique cut across her chest, trimmed with bright red and orange, as well as at the bottom near the ground and the ends of the sleeves, moved with the breeze. She herself almost looked like a rare flower blossom. Once again she had snuck away from Dario’s eagle eye and made her way to the valley. Of course, she only did so to pick their favourite gift from nature, the bellflower, but Dario was much too overprotective of her, although she kind of liked knowing such, it gave her a feeling of security, which she had lacked previously. She snickered at the fact that she had not felt secure, yet she had a whole army of dragoons to protect her as well as her close friend’s such as Glenn and Karsh. It was times like these, that she usually fell into deep thought, when she was alone with no problems to deal with, totally content. It had almost been three years since Serge and his party, including herself, had saved their very existence.. if they had not, she wondered, what would the world be like today? She let her mind switch to a new topic. She looked down at her left hand, the bright sun sparkled off her golden ring. Dario had proposed to her again two years prior, and she had gladly accepted. Just as they’d always planned, the wedding ceremony was held in Termina where all their memories existed, beautiful it was, surrounded in bellflowers, as well, all their friend’s had attended. Riddel sighed in relief, her life as well as many others, had changed for the better. The patch of bellflowers should be right around this corner she thought to herself, already she could smell their pleasant aroma. As she rounded the corner she was astonished to see many white feathers of various sizes mixed amongst the once dazzling blossoms. “It..looks as though a struggle of some sort occurred here.. H-Hello, is.. anyone here.?” Riddel called out with anguish present in her voice. No answer. She bent down to take a closer look at the site; Bellflowers lay about, torn by their roots from the soil in which they’d grown, white feathers of various sizes were mixed within, and here and there drops of dark liquid were present. “Blood..” she whispered under her breath, almost wanting to weep, while bringing herself to her feet, hands shaking, she grasped her staff tightly. “Hello!? Anyone...?” she called out again. In response she received not only her mournful echo, but a weak murmur then a small groan,“...H-Help me.. pl-please.....” a faint voice echoed then disappeared, silence quickly adhered. “Sounds as though it’s coming from below...” Riddel peeked over the edge of where she stood to see a young fragile looking woman. Her eyes were closed shut, scratches and gashes covered her blood stained body, long brown hair was now matted in tangles with blood and feathers, and the clothing she wore, a sun dress of some sort, was torn and stained beyond repair. She seemed to show very few signs of life, Riddel gasped at the sight. “One of the large birds must have attacked her...” The birds were quite vicious, due to the fact they laid their eggs in this vicinity, sometimes they would attack without warning. Riddel stood, held her staff out before her and with closed eyes called upon the white cobra. “Snake eyes...” opening her own lids she gazed down at the woman again with a painful frown upon her lustrous blue lips, “let that hold you for now..” she whispered, then quicky made her way back to the manor to get help. |
