Chapter Three | |||||||||||||

“Lately, I can’t breathe, waiting, they’re chasing me, no one listens but I’m ok with it. Only I wonder why if only my hands weren’t tied. The world’s a blister but I’m ok with it.. Don’t touch me. What if I was there, what if I was scared. I’m waiting for, they’re at my door. But I’ll be back again.” -‘Blister’ Our Lady Peace Karia sighed impatiently as she waited for the bowl to fill full of lukewarm water. Grabbing a wash cloth and towel she took the water into the neighboring room where she'd left the red head Turk minutes before after dragging him to her flat. Setting the bowl of water and the two cloths on the night stand she started undressing the Turk who was still out cold from the events earlier that night, leaving him only in his boxers. "You really got yourself into a fix this time didn't you..." she murmured as she took his clothes and started to lay them over a near by chair. "The Turk uniform.. to think they still wear this.." she shook her head. Turning and looking in the mirror at herself she grinned, "then again I'm not one to talk." Taking her cloak off she walked back over to where the unconscious Turk lay. Wetting the cloth she started to wash the blood from his body, drying the water off with the towel she'd brought as well. "Ech... gonna have to bandage your arm up I see, quite a cut.." she stated to herself as she put the cloth into the now red tinted bowl of water and started to bandage his arm up with surprising diligence. "I'm not sure who's more crazy.. you for getting into a fight with a group of men while you're drunk, them for thinking they could take me, or me for sitting here talking to you while you're knocked out cold.." Laughing to herself for a second, she reached behind Reno's head, then pulled her hand away. "Hmm... well.. the bleeding stopped any way.. one hell of a headache you're gonna have when you wake up though.." Deciding that she had done everything she could, Karia picked up the bowl and cloths and took them to the bathroom. Taking a moment to look in the mirror as she drained the water down the sink she started to think. Hmm.. I seem almost caring.. Motherly instinct is starting to shine though. The hell.. I'm not like...that. Shaking her head she put the bowl to the side. "Suppose I should clean my katanas while he sleeps.." grabbing her swords and a new cloth she made her way out to the living room. Reno's eyes fluttered open and then he flinched due to the pain in his arm. Hearing a small sound he turned his head and a vague figure then came into view by the door, "so.. you're finally awake. How do you feel?" spoke the figure. "Who the hell are you?" snapped Reno as he blinked a couple times then looked at the woman before him as his eyes came into focus. She was wearing black pants some what similar to the ones Elena wore, and a wine colored button up shirt. Long almost black hair hung to her waist lose, though the most interesting things about her were her bright green glowing eyes, and the katana she held in her hand. "So much for hospitality..." she murmured. "Sorry hun but I'm not overly friendly when I wake up feeling like I had the hell beaten out of me, half naked, my weapons missing and when I don't know where in hell I am.. Not to mention when a certain someone is standing looking at me like a hawk with a rather sharp sword in hand.." he smirked and swung his legs over the side bed. "So.. I'm assuming you don't remember anything about last night then?" She questioned as she leaned her katana against the wall. "Oh and sorry about the sword, I was cleaning it." "Last night..? Whoa, we have a really hard work out last night, babe?" he grinned and walked towards the chair where he finally saw the rest of his clothing and started to get dressed. "Not quite, more like I saved your sorry ass. Oh and Reno, don't call me babe," she grinned, picked up her sword and disappeared back into the room she came from. "Hey hey hey!" Reno called as he tried to button up his shirt and follow her out to the next room. "I still wanna talk to you," he spoke as though the two were on good terms. He being a former turk didn't feel the need to worry about his safety, even if she had been the one who'd saved him, so she said. "First off, how do you know my name?" he asked as the woman sat down in a chair and started to clean her katanas. "Just call me family." she replied without looking up from her sword. "Like hell, I don't have any family.." he replied, "And where are my weapons." "Of course you have a family, never said anything about biological. What about Rude, Elena and Tseng.. Even Rufus? Your gun and electrorod are on the table." "So you're saying you're a Turk?" he questioned and grabbed his weapons of the table, putting them in their places. "Kind of, but not your kind of Turk. That's how I know your name though, I was sent to watch over you, Tseng's orders. Though he's never met me before, only Rufus has. But enough about that, do you remember what happened last night? The fight?" she asked as she finally finished cleaning her katana and placed it with the other, then looked up at the confused red head. "Fight... oh yea... now I remember. So you're uh... Karia, right?" "Correct. So how's your head and the wound on your arm?" Karia asked as she rose and went towards the fridge, long hair fanning out behind her as she walked. "My arm's fine, though my head feels like I got hit by a truck. Nothing I can't handle though. Hey what about you, seems you have a nasty stain on your side, you get stabbed or something?" he asked as he walked over to her. "Nothing much, I healed myself.." she explained as she looked in the fridge and disregarded his interest in her wound, "want something to drink?" "Beer?" Reno said as he walked closer to get the bottle she held out to him. "Thanks. And a wound that bled that much, sure as hell couldn't be treated with any cure materia sweetie," he noted now that he was closer. "I'm a heavy bleeder, don't let it concern you." she snapped back as she opened a bottle of spring water, annoyed with his persistence. "Alright alright, don't bite my nuts off! So uh any way.. oh! How do you know my pyramid attack? I'm the only one who's supposed to be able to use that.." the red head expressed as he leaned against the kitchen counter. "I said I'm not a Turk like you, I have the ability to learn others fighting styles as well. Wasn't as if you were making great use of the attack last night any way." "So, why does Tseng have you watching me any way? Actually how do you know him, or Rufus for that matter and me not have any knowledge of your existence until now?" questioned Reno as he ignored her comment and pushed his sunglasses back upon his head. "That for me to know, and you to keep your nose out of. Any way, with the latest disappearance of Rufus, Tseng can't be losing any of his Turks.. now can he?" "Well I don't need anyone watching over me, who in hell do you think you are any way Ms. Mysterious, some savior?" "No, I'm the babysitter who just saved your ass honey, so I wouldn't be too much of a smart ass if I were you." "Hey now.." started Reno, but was interrupted by Karia. "Hey now nothing, now I'm tired, and since my bed is free I'm going to lay down. I wouldn't recommend leaving, and if you touch my swords, your pride and joy are as good as in pieces, and I'm sure you know what I mean," she smirked. Before Reno could answer, Karia had already walked the short distance to her room and had shut the door. "Damn... first time in my life I've ever listened to a woman's orders, that's for damn sure" the red head mumbled as he walked over to the chair next to where Karia had been sitting previously and turned on the TV. It's odd how she knows Rufus though.. Especially when no one else even knew she was alive.. Something just doesn't seem right. I don't trust her.. I'll figure her out yet, no one gets the better of Reno. He smirked to himself, then something caught his eye, the katana's. "Hmm..." |
