JOHN WARD: SIGHTS AND SOUNDS






"The Voice" began broadcasting with Vol Basketball partner Lowell Blanchard in 1967. On September 14th 1968, Big Orange Football was included. John and new partner Bill Anderson, broadcast their first Vol football game on the Volunteer Flagship Network.
Tennessee played Georgia to a tie...17 to 17. Ward's voice would become a UT tradition among many rich ones.He has given us many years of colorful play by play and exciting calls.

Sadly for the Vol Faithful, John Ward and Bill Anderson decided "it was time" and called it a career.The 1998 Fiesta Bowl became the final broadcast for Ward and Anderson. This was the longest-running partnership in college football. At Neyland Stadium, the press box area honors John by being named for him..
