continued ...

Minutes later, I heard the fisher-men shouting as they were now at a short distance from the shore. I guess they also knew what the guy had told me about the "habagat".

At 5:50 am, I saw Ben Magahis at the gazebo or kiosk doing his calisthenics execrcise. This time, I felt the wind blowing from the sea and I noticed that the waves were now getting bigger. I joined Ben at the kiosk and told him about the man's "prediction", so to speak.

At 6:10 am, a pouring rain with very strong wind blew our breakfast out from the concrete center table that the caterer was preparing. Ben and I managed to squeezed ourselves and seek refuge underneath the table because the wind and rain were really blowing crazy. The fisherman's prediction was true. This phenomenon lasted for 20 to 25 minutes only but everything light fell to the floor. We helped the lady picked up everything (and luckily none of our food was blown away) from the floor and put it back on the table. That's the time when Remy, Flo and Udes got out of their cottages and joined us cleaning the mess and fixing the chairs and tables.

Over cups of coffee, Udes started telling his jokes: The Uga-uga or death jokes, the coffee or coke joke, and the efficacent oil joke. All of them really funny. Dr. Bunag told his version about: Luya bawang, paminta, and suka. Flo has a lot also - like the female elephant and a male rat, the siko-siko jokes and dozens more which I can't remember now. I should have jotted it down as Homer told me to. I only jotted the names or titles of the jokes thinking that I would be able to remember them - but I don't.

We have plenty of time, after all it was "Rest Day". Lunch is on Dr. Jao's at the "White House" and dinner will be on Mayor elect Vicky Lim in Gasan.
