ST KILDA TRAM MUSEUM |
There is a very good tram museum at St Kilda, with a couple of kilometres of track laid between the museum and the playground. The entry fee to the museum allows you to ride on as many historic trams as you like for the day. It is run by volunteers who are busily restoring even more old trams all the time. I was last at this museum when I was about Brady's age - it has improved enormously since then, and is definately worth a visit, especially as rides are included! |
The track at St Kilda is about 2km long, from the tram museum to the beach, near the playground. On the way it skirts the edge of the salt evaporation pans.to the south, and parallels St Kilda Road to the north. This view is from next to the driver. |
The old green tram in this pic is from Melbourne, I remember riding in them back in the '70s. |
