-Personality Spotlight-

Brice is a well-mannered man who wears full plate armor polished to perfection, but instead of the symbol of the Hammerites on his breastplate, he wears a holy symbol of Aidon instead.  To the outside observer who isn’t able to discern rank, he may well appear to be a Hammerite.  There are times when Brice will use this misconception to his advantage.

Brice has a social grace learned from years of being the son of a minor noble.  He has high diplomacy and has the tendency to be the peacemaker if the need arises.  He has learned much during his years in the church, and has become an accomplished Cleric. His sermons are somewhat short, but spoken with care and reverence befitting one of his rank.  He
is a fairly good public speaker.

Brice has embraced his role as a cleric of Aidon.  He now puts forth as much effort into his studies and worship as he did when he began training to becoming a Hammerite.  He feels that he is still serving the church, and to some degree he is following his vow from years earlier.  But he feels that he needs to work harder at this role, as he was unable to become a holy warrior Hammerite.

Brice is ambitious to some degree, but will always put the church above himself in all regards.

Deep down inside himself, Brice is ashamed that he was never able to become a Hammerite.  He will work alongside a Hammerite without any hesitation, but will always feel as if he is less than they are.  Regardless of the Hammerite, or his disposition, he will feel as though he is less than the holy warrior  He will never, under any circumstance, attack another Hammerite or cast against one.  He views them with ultimate reverence.

His greatest goal would be to do something that his father would be proud of.  He wasn’t old enough to accomplish any great feat before his father passed away, and without even a grandfather, he has grown up without a father figure, but instead with a legendary representation that he vowed to live up to.

His greatest fear is to tarnish the reputation of his father’s name by having Aidon turn away from him.  For without his religion, and without being a Hammerite, Brice would feel as if he were nothing.

He feeds his ego from others around him who say that he has accomplished much, or those who are grateful for his efforts.  For without that, he would consider his life as failed.  Brice will always be his greatest critic, but that makes him strive for perfection whenever he can.

Appearance, Hobbies, Habits:

Brice is in his late twenties with dishwater blond hair cropped short so not to fall into his eyes.  Rarely does he have the time to have it cut properly, so usually it is just maintained with a dagger and a small mirror.  When there is ample time, Brice attempts to stay clean-shaven.

While not necessarily a handsome man, he is not unhandsome either.  He has a powerful jaw and a good speaking voice that emits a level of trustworthiness.  Brice is not a meek person if he feels he is in the right, or if he is defending the church.  He will use his perform (sermon) skill to chastise or make his point come across should diplomacy fail.  If that is not successful, he will utilize his war hammer.

He is a tall man, like his father and has the same deep blue eyes.  He has a medium build and wears his armor as if a second skin.  Brice takes great pride in his outward appearance and will try to make time each day to maintain his armor and weaponry to ensure it is polished and functional.

Brice takes great pleasure in his ability to carve and whittle for pleasure.  Something taught to him by his mother, he will carve small animals or figures to be given away as gifts.  He carries a small collection of his most favorite selections in a hard wooden box in his pack.  While not particularly outstanding in craftsmanship, he enjoys the hobby and it relaxes him to whittle.  He has also created holy symbols from wood before, but prefers his own to be of a metallic substance.

Beyond whittling, Brice enjoys writing letters home to his mother.  Knowing that she can’t read them herself, she left instructions with a housemaid to read them to her mother, and then deposit them in a safe place within the residence.  Someday he intends to take those letters and publish them in a memoirs book to give to his own children.

Brice has the habit of expecting everyone to know the stories of Aidon and the background of the church when he meets them.  Sometimes he will quote passages or list heroic deeds from Aidon’s book as if expecting his audience to already know the information.  For someone who grew up engulfed in the Church, he sometimes forgets that not all have had the benefit of such teachings.

Brice also has a tendency to fidget with his holy symbol if he feels threatened or nervous.  He will stop himself if he notices this behavior.
