Owen is a pony star! He is our 12 hand grey Welsh Mountain Pony gelding and he is brilliant and stubborn, just like a pony should be. He came to us at age 16 with only enough under saddle training to do leadline lessons but look at him now! Owen can do training level dressage (he looks like a little Andalusian or Lippizan when he goes on the bit), he jumps small courses with the advanced riders, and he gets his flying lead changes. He is also trained to drive (but we still need a cart). Recently Owen has even been helping us drag the arena. Owen is available for the leadline students and for more advanced students who are small enough to ride him. Owen has his own page here. (this link will take you to another site) |

Rosalynn is a 16.1 hand dark chestnut Swedish Warmblood mare with a beautiful, kind face. She has been trained through third level in dressage and had a long, succesful career in the show ring before retiring to have a foal. She is happy to be out of retirement now and loves showing everyone that she is still fit and able to work. Rosalynn can jump small courses when she is not in foal, and she enjoys trail rides. She especially likes splashing in water! Rosalynn is quiet enough do lessons with any level of rider but her favorite riders are teens and adults. Rosalynn can be seen on the broodmare page here and also has her own page here. (this link will take you to another site). |

Ginny is probably the most popular member of the school horse string. She is a 14.2 hand light bay Arabian mare who lacks many of the typical Arabian characteristics so we prefer to call her a sport pony. With her pony size and lovely smooth gaits, Ginny is less intimidating for some of the smaller riders. She is a quick and careful jumper and gets her flying lead changes. She is also good on trails. Due to her sensitive nature, she can be ridden by students who already have good balance and quiet aids. You can see more of Ginny on the broodmare page here and on Madeleine's page here. (Ginny is known and loved by many as "Tipper", but we thought that kids would relate better to a character from a popular novel than the wife of a politician.) |

Lindsey (a.k.a. Mini-Ginny) is the other large pony in the schoolhorse string. She is a 13.3 hand bright bay Welsh Pony x Quarter Horse mare. Her sire is Windsong's Lewie Prima, a son of the wonderful Bristol Sun God! Most of Lindsey's previous experience has been on trails. She is very quiet and naturally slow so she can be trail ridden by small children and beginners. In true pony fashion, Lindsey much prefers children to adults. She does not care much for cantering and jumping but she has found her niche in giving leadline and lungeline lessons to small beginners. With her beautiful face and abundance of mane and tail hair to brush and braid, she is truly a dream pony! |

Rocky is our newest lesson pony - you would think that bays are my favorites to look at my school string! He is a lovely, deep chocolate colored 13.2 hand pony gelding with a permanent medium card. He is not registered but his type and conformation are most like a New Forest Pony. Rocky came to us as an experienced lesson pony already. He can do lessons for any level of rider from little leadliners all the way through kids who are jumping and showing. He has experience (and ribbons!) at A shows in both hunters and jumpers. Special thanks to Kris Waters for allowing us to purchase this special pony! Thank you also to Jenna, a rider from his previous barn, for the use of the wonderful trotting and jumping photos! |

Oliver belongs to one of my students but we are lucky to get to use him for some lessons. He is a 16.1 hand dark bay breeding stock (that means no spots) Paint gelding. Oliver may be young but he is quiet and slow on the flat so he can be ridden by small beginners through advanced students. He is a very eager jumper and really wakes up when he sees fences! Oliver has already shown that he is a talented and scopey jumper by easily jumping as high as 3'8" with his young owner. You can see more photos of Oliver and his owner on their page, here. |
