GREAT PET IDEAS
Great ideas!

Swimming pools- not just for kids! Some dogs love getting wet and what better way than to run in and out of a small plastic pool. Just remember to keep clean water in it.

"Turtle" Sand Boxes- Does Scruffy like to bury things or dig? Bury a bone or chew toy in there and let Scruffy dig it out. This is also a good place for Scruffy to dig instead of the yard!

Wood Chips, Straw or Hay- Place on the dirt to keep the mud down especially during the rain and snowy seasons. Less "muddy paws" & tracks coming inside.

Tie Wire- Roll of wire to fix fences that come unhooked easily. You can also call your fence company to put a heavy duty metal clip on there.

Chicken Wire- Not just for chickens! Fido won't stop digging under the fence? Try getting chicken wire and placing it on the bottom of the fence extending it out a bit over the grass part. Use wooden stakes sporadically to hold it down. Most pets don't like the chicken wire and stakes and therefore won't dig there.

In Ground Stakes-
Bad: Silver cork screw type stakes are not recommended to hold Fido while outside.
Good: The Green color stake with the dome top and metal fins that go into the ground are recommended for the smaller dogs.

The
Orange color ones with the retractable fins and chain is recommended for the larger dogs.

Teathers (Ti Outs)
-
Good:
Use the chain with CLOSED links or cable ties.
Bad: NEVER use rope or nylon.

Kennels and Houses-Use straw in the kennels or dog houses outside as insulation for your pets.

Water-Use metal buckets or tubs with handles to hook to the fence to keep your dog(s) from spilling the water. A heater is available at your local hardware or farm store to put in them during the winter time.

SUGGESTIONS AND EXAMPLES  OF WHAT IS NOT RECOMMENDED
METAL BUCKET-
Hook up to the fence to keep your pet(s) from tipping it over.
Green Stake for smaller animals to put in ground.
Sand Box- Use this to hide bones and toys for your dog to find.
Orange Stake for larger animals to put in ground.
Pictured is a flower pot filled with concrete with a twist stake in the pot instead of the ground. Suggestion would be to use the green or orange stake instead of the corkscrew.
Example of Cable Runner or put 2 stakes in the ground.
This type of chain is NOT recommended.
This type of chain on the roll can be found at hardware or lumber stores. Use the ones with the closed links.
Use these type of clips to hold the chain links together or to secure fence gates and doors.
Use these under the kennels or dog houses or for a walk way path for your dog..
Good use of "canopy" for shade for your pet. Also notice the pool and the dog house.
Another good way to shade the dog house in a kennel.
This PitBull is in a 6 foot kennel inside a fence. He has a dog house, shade, food and water. What a happy dog!
This is a pet carrier. Don't mistake this for a proper dog house. This is NOT a proper dog house.
These are examples of proper dog houses.
Good use of straw. Moisture goes underneath and keeps the top dry.
Corkscrew stakes are NOT recommended. They pull up too easily.
