Emaeliass |
It was dark and hot. She need to get out of the place that had been her prison for so long. Emaeliass butted against the side of the hard wall. As she knocked against her capture, she heard several others cracking and breaking out around her. She had to get out, too. She didn't want to be held here forever. Suddenly, something knocked into her, and the cocoon she had been encased in cracked about her. She stood and looked about her. She angered when she realized that none of the bonders where hers. She shouldn't be the one to walk away alone, but if it had to be that way, she'd make it seem like it was a good thing. "None worthy of Emaeliass!" she declared proudly, and huffed into the water, dissappointed that her bond had not been among those assemblied. She slinked over to where the food awaited the new hatchlings. She carefully took up a piece and began to chew as she watched her hatchmates and their bonds. They seemed so happy. Someday, Emaeliass told herself. Someday. *** |
Fledgling training was horrible. With her being the only one without a bond, she had to practice with one of the ruddy Covebrats who would, surely enough, be shipped off to the next Cove's hatching to bond her own dragon and leave her alone once again to only be joined by another Covebrat. "When is this going to be over?" Emaeliass would groan during the lesson. All the other dragons thought she just didn't like the lessons, but she didn't want to be alone anymore. She, however, retained her regal attitude towards the other hatchlings. Envy often caused people to be cross to others. It worked the same for dragons. "Out of my way, you black git," Emaeliass huffed as the black female, Icaruss, accidently stepped out in front of her. "You and your ruddy human bond!" |
Icaruss growled deep in her throat as Emaeliass swished her tail at the black's nose. Emaeliass didn't mean to be rude, but there was nothing more she could do. She had no bond to defend her or help get her noticed, the only way she knew how to do that was to speak up. *** Emaeliass stared out at the long expanse of sea that ringed Lathis Cove. She couldn't stand to stay here another minute. Emaeliass dove head first into the sea and start to swim as fast as she could away from the island. She had swam for sometime when she spotted another island in the distance. She started towards the island, but was swept away by a rather large wave. Suddenly, Emaeliass felt herself rising. "Hold on, little one," The large green Sea Dragon told her. "We'll take you back to the Cove with us. It's not safe out in the bay during High Tide." Emaeliass sighed and laid back, accidently knocking into the green's Dragoneer. Oddly enough, she didn't care that the green had a bonder or that the bonder was making sure that she didn't have any injuries. All she cared about was that she hadn't been alone at the very moment she should have been dead. She owed her life to this pair. She just hoped that she could pay them back once they got to whatever Cove they were speaking of. *** "What happened to her, M'riu?" G'riu, the Covelord, asked when M'riu carried the blue female onto land and placed her in one of the tide pools up around the main Covelets. "She was either swimming away from something or towards something, and got caught it a rip tide," M'riu sighed, stroking the bruised hide of the blue sea dragon. "She's pretty weak. She hasn't even uttered one word." "Where's her bond?" G'riu asked. "Drown, I suppose," M'riu sighed. "It's a shame, too. She's quite beautiful." "Thank you," Emaeliass muttered. "I don't have a bond so don't worry." G'riu sighed as he took some healing cream out of his pocket, "Hold still, dear. I'm just going to put this on your bruises." "Thank you," Emaeliass sighed. "You're being so nice to me. Not like the people at Lathis Cove." "So, you're from Lathis?" M'riu sighed. "I best go and tell them you're all right." "They don't care," Emaeliass sighed. "They probably haven't even noticed I'm gone." "I'm sure that can't be true," M'riu sighed. "As soon as this cut heals, I'll put you on our Clutching Beach. It's larger their, but still enclosed." "Thank you," Emaeliass sighed as she started to fall asleep. "Don't worry. I'll have Huiyoiss wait here with you tonight," M'riu sighed. "He'll make sure you're all right through the night." "Sleep, darling blue," Huiyoiss sighed as he curled up next to her in one of the large tide pools. "You're in Rip Tide now." "Thank you, all," Emaeliass sighed as she drifted to sleep. Continue... |
