Midnight
Midnight stared up at the full moon. Evening dwelled on the verge of dawn. The sun had begun to show already. That was when Midnight realized that she must be getting home soon. She bustled up her dress and rushed back up towards her weyr, a place she had to keep completely blocked from sunlight. Shutting the thick shutters on her winds, Midnight layed down on her bed, an overwelling urge to feed welling up inside her entire body. Shaking the very thought out of her head, she sighed.
"It's not civil, and if anyone found out..."
"Found out what, Midnight?" Lokia asked as she entered the room.
"Nothing," Midnight shook her head. "What is it, Lokia?"
"Jifa wants you down in the kitchen," Lokia sighed. "Are you all right? You're eyes are getting red."
"I'm fine," Midnight growled, looking away from Lokia. "I just didn't get any sleep."
"You never get any sleep, Midnight. We have this conversation every morning," Lokia sighed. "I'm being to wonder about you."
"There's nothing to wonder about!!!" Midnight shouted. "Now leave me alone!"
Lokia shook her head and left, "It's a wonder someone hasn't killed that girl by now."
"It is a wonder," Midnight sighed, feeling her elongated canines.

Midnight walked down to the kitchen, careful to avoid any halls that opened near and exit to the courtyard. When she finally reached the kitchen, Jifa was standing there with a rag in her hand.
"She glad you could join us," Jifa sighed, throwing the rag at Midnight. "Start with the tables, and then you can help Olika clean the Watch-Wher den."
"But that's not our job!" Midnight shrieked.
"Well, it is today!" Jifa shouted.
"But you have to go outside to get to the den!" Midnight shouted again.
"Well, you'll get some fresh air then," Jifa said. "You haven't been out in awhile. It'll be good for you."
"Yeah," Midnight mumbled. "If you think turning into a pile of ash is good for you."
"What was that?" Jifa asked, whipping around.
  "Nothing," Midnight growled.

***

Midnight stood by the exit to the dens with the bucket of water in her hands. How was she going to do this? Suddenly, Olika appeared behind her.
"I understand," Olika sighed. "I'll do it for you."
"How do you understand?" Midnight asked.
"It's not just you. There's plenty of us running around. You know what, I've got an idea. I'll take you and show you just how many there are," Olika said.
  "Of US?" Midnight exclaimed.
Olika shook her head and then rolled up her sleve to relive a small symbol tattooed on her arm, "There are more of us, and I'll show you tonight."

***

Midnight met Olika outside in the courtyard and hour after the sun had set in order to prevent anything unfurtunate from happening. K'ran and Ionalth had agreed to transport them to The Healing Den. After they dismounted, Ionalth winked back between.
Olika took Midnight to The Healing Den's Halloween Gather Area. Midnight had never seen so many people that seemed so out of the ordinary.
"They're not all people, if that's what you're thinking," Olika said.
"Then, what are they?" Midnight asked.
"Abnormals, like you an me; although, that's the blunt why to say it," Olika sighed. "You're a vampire..."
  "How'd you know?!" Midnight shouted.
"Resistence to go out into sunlight, the extremely over grown canines, well, you get the picture, and I'm a witch," Olika sighed. "Each of these people as a strange trait about them as well. Some my be Werewolfs, other may be undead, it really just depends on who you talk to."
"How do you know about all this?" Midnight asked.
"Witches, unlike Vampires, are very contacted with what's going on in the area the occupy. I've been waiting for this Gather for what seems like a whole turn!" Olika exclaimed.
"Are you going to apply for candidacy?" Midnight asked.
"Yes, and so are you," Olika said.
"What?!" Midnight shouted. "I can't ride a dragon!"
"Can't or won't?" Olika asked as she sighed the form. "I'm sure you don't have to worry about the light. This hatching is bound to happen at nightfall. That's the only way to hatch a
Hallow's Eve clutch."
Midnight sighed, "All right. I guess it couldn't hurt."

Another of Twengith’s eggs, the last of her four, shook open suddenly. A pale grey-starred wing came from it, a large wing which said this dragon would be a flier as well as a swimmer! Though mostly grey in color, the dragon which came from the shell had a fin of darker black-night upon her neck, and fins between her toes for swimming.
Is it past midnight? Asked the dragoness. No one quite knew. No one but one.
“You haven’t passed me, Chishikith.” Said Midnight, the vampiress.
Good. Because there are some things you will need to clear up. We’ll be flying at night, correct? Well. I’ll need to know where to go, because in case you’re wondering, night time is DARK! Just about as dark as it was in my egg! And I’ll have you know, there’s no up or down in that egg. Only inside it and outside it.
“Well,” Midnight attempted to get the blabbermouth of a dragon to calm down, “now you’re outside, and you don’t have to worry about getting lost in the dark. I can see just fine, and I’ll guide you if you need it.”
Good, because the food is over there. I can smell it just fine. Are you going to join me? I think you like meat, nice bloody meat...
“Ooooh, Chishikith... Stop it! People will worry...”
