Vorun
Vorun laughed as he and Siyu rushed outside, the early morning air whipping around their faces as they ran. Siyu dove into the bay as Vorun jumped in behind her.
"I don't get you," Siyu sighed. "How come you defended me when you gained nothing from it?"
"Because, Si, you do that all the time. It's nothing new, and it was my fault that you did it this time. After about ten years of that, I should know by now that if you reach the door before me..."
Siyu laughed as she dove under the water and popped back up behind Vorun, "I don't do it all the time."
"Yes you do," Vorun sighed, laying back in the water. "You do it every time you can."
"Ah, but not all the time," Siyu said, laughing as she splashed Vorun. "I got you first this time."
Vorun spit the water out that Siyu had got in his mouth. He was about to repremand her when a large silver figure appeared behind her, "Um, Siyu, you might want to turn around. There's something really big behind you."
"Like I'm going to fall for that one, Vorun," Siyu laughed. "Oh, there's a big black monster behind me, and it's going to gobble me up."
"I'm a he, actually, I'm silver not black, and I'm definatly not going to gobble you up. I just ate this morning," The silver creature sighed as he raised his head out of the water.
"A sea dragon," Vorun sighed, looking up at the large silver.
"I certainly am, but why do you sound so surprised," The silver asked. "You leave in a Cove."
"But I'm never seen a rare before. We have mostly blue and greens around here," Vorun sighed. "Not that blues and greens are a bad thing..."
"Nothing's a bad thing," Siyu sighed. "I wish you would learn that."
"Siyu, be quiet," Vorun hissed through his teeth. "You'll ruin everything."
"Everything what?" Siyu asked. "You think you're actually going to be bond searched? What a yutz!"
"Well, young one," The silver sighed. "I am looking for several bonders for a clutch at Altus Cove."
  "Altus!!!" Vorun exclaimed.
"What's the big deal?" Siyu asked.
"Altus is one of the for most Coves on Alskyr. It's an honor to stand there," Vorun sighed.
"It's good to hear that we have such status. My guess is that you would like to stand," The silver said.
"Of course!" Vorun exclaimed. "It's been my dream since I was young."
"Well, then, I see no reason why you can't come back to Altus with me," The silver said.
"I do!" Siyu shouted. "Mother would never stand for it!"
"Siyu, you're going to bond eventually, too," Vorun said. "I heard father talking about sending you to Vallen Cove on Berlin Island."
"I think not!" Siyu shouted. "I have no interest in bonding a sea dragon!"
"Well, this isn't about you. This is about your brother," The silver said. "If I take him with me without his mother knowing..."
"She would come and take him back," Siyu sighed.
"She doesn't have that much control over me!" Vorun shouted. "I'm a grown man, and I can run my own life! I'm going!"
"You'll be sorry when mother finds out!" Siyu shouted as Vorun boarded the silver sea dragon.
"Char her! I'm going!" Vorun shouted back as the silver swam away.

***

Vorun had waited so long and had almost begun to regret coming. That was until the eggs started hatching...
The first egg starts rocking, mildly at first, then rougher. With a sharp squeal, a mimicked tone from it's mother, the calf inside pushes the egg apart; it's head pushing one end, and it's tail the other. The aqua colored creature stands, as really it was only hatchlings that were light enough to do so, and walks uneasily forward.
Mistjah steps forward and after a seconds' hesitation meets the newborn halfway.
"No more little children?" the aqua asks. Mistjah giggles, "Well, not for a while, anyway, Silyss." The girl then leads her sea dragon calf to the water a little way down the beach, where other sea dragoners waited with food.
Two eggs follow closely after their aqua sister, the first egg shattering the second's. A blue and a rare red. Vorun watched the red with wonder. Reds were rare in sea dragon hatchings, and how wonderful it would be to have one, but as he watched the red, he felt a bump at his knees.

You don't have to worry about Siyu anymore. If she locks you out again, I'll attack her, The blue sighed.
"Yes Perscituss," V'run sighed, cradling the blue head, "I don't have to fear being locked out again.. hopefully." he smiles wryly at the blue sea dragon calf as he leads him into the water.
"Well, V'run," Perscituss sighed, "do you regret coming anymore?"
"Of course I don't," V'run sighed as Perscituss curled his tail around V'run's waist. "But I can't wait to get by to Rip Tide and show you off to everyone. Especially, Siyu."
Perscituss circled about in the water as V'run laid back and floated next to him. The blue sea dragon crawled up onto V'run as the boy braced himself so he could still float with the extra weight resting on him. Perscituss let out a rather large sigh as V'run smiled to himself. Nothing could have made this moment any better.
"V'run," Perscituss sighed.
  "Yeah, Perscituss," V'run sighed.
  "I'm hungry..."
