There are some really informative sites on Carnatic Music out there....some of my favorites are:

Todd McComb's Pages - the grandfather of Carnatic Music sites!!!
Mohan Ayer's Carnatic Corner - one of the pioneers of putting Carnatic Music on the web
Sangeetham - a regularly updated site containing a wealth of information for Carnatic buffs. It is co-owned by none other than Sanjay Subramaniam!!
TM Krishna's Home Page - I have been fortunate to have Sri TM Krishna also as my Guru. His site is very well maintained and frequently updated with details of his concert schedules and his song lists.
Muthuswami Dikshitar- a very well designed site containing a whole lot of useful stuff about one of the most esoteric of the Trinity composers!!
Sawf Archive of Articles on Classical Indian Music- contains some really well-researched articles by Dr. VN Muthukumar and Dr. MV Ramana.
Ananya Music - the home page of 'Ananya', an organisation based in Bangalore devoted to the cause of Carnatic Music.
Sai's Carnatic Music Page - a site containing vintage concerts of the maestros of the past.
Rohan Krishnamurthy's page dedicated to South Indian Classical Music - an informative site that contains some real vintage photographs too!!.

Here are some other useful links for those of you who are interested in converting your tapes to digital format (MP3 or Real Audio):

Gold Wave - my favorite recording utility. The first step towards converting a tape to either MP3 or Real Audio is to convert it to WAV format. There are utilities which might let you convert directly to MP3 or Real but it is advisable to convert it to WAV because you get the maximum flexibility that way! Gold Wave is a pretty neat utility. If you download the LAMEWIN32 utility, you can use GoldWave to save in MP3 format too!!
Music Match Jukebox - a very popular software which lets you save and convert in both WAV and MP3 - however, the free version does not support line-in recording and hence is not very useful for recording. (You can use the mic though!)
Real Producer - a very handy software that lets you convert files to the Real Audio format. The free version only supports conversion from WAV to Real - which is why I recommend converting to the WAV format first.
