Waterloo and Area
ACCKWA is an Ontario Non-profit Corporation and a Canadian Registered Charity.
It is our mission to mobilize our community to respond effectively and with
compassion through education, support and advocacy to individuals infected with
and affected by Human Immunodeficiency Virus, HIV. ACCKWA provides free and
confidential services to residents of Waterloo Region. A very special thank you

Out
On The Shelf is a library and resource centre for the LGBTTTSIQQ* communities
and allies. The centre is staffed regularly so that the community can come and
access books, find out about the diverse range of events, resources and services
and share a queer friendly space. In the near future, we will provide meeting
space for new groups and initiatives.

GLOBAL is Wilfrid Laurier University's organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual,
transgender, queer and undecided students, alumni and faculty. If you are having

Guelph Queer Equality provides a safe space and supportive environment for all
people in the transgendered, bisexual, lesbian, and gay community. People of all
races, religions, sexual orientations, genders, ages, and abilities are welcome.

Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Trans Youth Line
The Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line is a toll-free Ontario-wide peer-support
phone line for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, 2-spirited,
queer and questioning young people. That means you can talk to one of our youth
volunteers who know where you’re coming from. TTY service for the hearing
impaired is available.

OUTline is a service for people who want to talk, ask questions or get connected
with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Queer or Questioning community.
We specialize in issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity. No
matter who you are or what you want to talk about, we're here for you! Our
services are confidential and anonymous.

PFLAG Canada is a registered charitable organization that provides support,
education and resources to parents, families and individuals who have questions
or concerns about sexual orientation or gender identity.
PFLAG Canada has chapters or contacts in more than 60 communities across Canada.
If you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, two-spirit,
intersex, queer or questioning, or if you care about someone who is, our
compassionate volunteers are ready to help.

The program staff achieve these goals through the following activities and
services that welcome people of all sexual orientations and diverse lifestyle
backgrounds:
- anonymous and confidential HIV testing
- HIV testing in pregnancy
- sexually transmitted disease clinics that provide assessment,
counselling and treatment including free medications
assessment, education, support and referral for HIV positive
clients
- partnerships with, community-based agencies, schools, hospitals and area
physicians
- free condoms for individuals and community groups
- safer sex and safer drug use information
- resource information for people living with HIV/AIDS and STDs
- health promotion and prevention activities through individual and family
assessment and referral service including home visits
- resource library of journals, books, posters, teaching kits and video
tapes
- workshops for target specific groups
- consultations with pre-school day care institutions, schools, colleges,
universities, work-places, community groups, and agencies
