The Kappa Pi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity was chartered on Saturday, February 24, 2001 on the campus of Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The Charter members of the Kappa Pi Chapter are Brother Alex D. Geiger, Brother Andre T. Boyles, Brother Randy L. Goodson, Brother Robert J. Dantzler, Brother Samuel E. McWhite, Brother Kendrick D. Bright, Brother John Q. Jones, Brother M. David Glymph, IV, Brother Roland L. Salley, Brother Robert C. Harrington, Brother Melvin L. Harris, II, Brother Jason W. Sanders, and Brother Willie L. Campbell. We also have three honorary members Dr. Henry N. Tisdale, President of Claflin University, Brother Dwight D. McMillan, Director of Bands at Claflin University, and Professor Sidney B. Young, former Director of Bands at Claflin University. Our Sponsor is Brother Michael D. McClain and our advising chapter was the Iota Chapter at Georgia Instituite of Technology in Atlanta, GA. Special thanks to the Zeta Eta Chapter at South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, SC and the Zeta Chi at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC who helped to keep us focused through our colonization period. Another special thanks to Brother Mike McClain for bringing us together and always acknowledging my strong work ethic. Thanks to Brother Kevin James for always taking time out to talk to us and encouraging us to move forward and "to get out!" Thanks KJ!
