| George Church was born in Tazewell County in 1844. He was the son of Joel Church and Caroline "Hobbs" Church. He served in the Confederate Army from 1862 to 1865. He was in Co. C/E. 34th Va. E. and Co. B. 22nd Va. He was paroled at Charleston, May,30,1865 He married Emeline Mullins after the war. She was the daughter of William "Bresh" Mullins and Judea "Osbourne" Mullins. George and Emeline had four children. They divorced sometime between 1870 and 1877. George then married Elizabeth Derryberry. She was the daughter of Rebecca Derryberry. George and Elizabeth had three children |
