NCTJ equivalent. Accredited by the PTC.
Skills learnt include news and feature writing, sub-editing, photography, media law and ethics of journalism. QuarkXpress and Photoshop on PCs and Macs. Roles in editorial production projects included: News reporter, Entertainment reporter, Community news reporter, Sub-Editor, and Picture Editor. Distinctions were obtained in the following modules: Editorial Production, Photojournalism, and Online Journalism.

At university I learnt a number of practical media skills which included making a CD-Rom, a Website, slide assisted presentations, and a short documentary.

A Levels: French, Geography, Media Studies.
GCSEs:9 including English, Maths and Science.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
North Hertfordshire District Council: Administrator in Planning Department. Taking calls, assisting Planning Officers, and keeping various filing systems up to date, and conducting property searches.
Harrow Observer news desk: Writing news in briefs, and small stories.
Telegraph fashion desk: Assisting fashion assistants with shoot preparations, dealing with PR groups and fashion designers, also general ad hoc office duties.
Office work including general administration, customer service, and data entry. Notably working in W. Business Presentations and Stevenage Borough Council where responsibilities included telephone contact with customers and the general public, and reporting to senior managers.
Crew Member - McDonalds:
Teamwork in the kitchen and interacting with the public on the tills. I participated in the Silver Service Awards.
My McDonalds experience also helped at university when studying issues of ideology and globalisation.
Assembler - Unichem:
Working part time during my A levels, I had to accurately assemble medical orders.
Hitchin County Court: Two weeks work experience at various administration jobs.
INTERESTS
Travelling: Holidays have taken me across the world including Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia and America. I enjoy visiting new places and experiencing new cultures. After my GCSEs I backpacked across Derbyshire with a couple of friends, I learnt how to be independent and use my initiative as we travelled on foot from place to place. During my time at university I ventured with friends to Paris, Israel and Italy, visiting museums and places of interest on a budget, this taught me self reliance and developed organisational skills. Sports: I'm a 4th Kyu in Shotokan Karate. At the University I joined the Volleyball team, where I competed in local friendly games and in the South West Regional Volleyball Tournament. I also enjoy walking in the countryside.
Miscellaneous: I enjoy reading, watching films and socialising. I also enjoy visiting museums and exhibitions, and working in London allows me to indulge more often.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Computer literate: Including Microsoft and Lotus Applications,
Adobe PhotoShop, QuarkXpress, Homesite, Cool Edit, Adobe Premiere and HTML.
Languages: Basic French, Spanish and Hockchieu to conversational level.
Miscellaneous: Age Concern Volunteer since 1996. Piano grade 3.
