Pet Ownership and Credits
There are many responsibilities to owning a pet. Please consider the many
aspects before acquiring a pet. Do you have the ability to be a loving,
devoted pet owner? Can you put up with house breaking, chewing, demanding
time and effort it takes to have a pet? Can you deal with
handling necessary discipline with out going over board, yet teach your pet
to be obedient and have control over him at all times?
None of us like to be “the heavy” but we must to ensure the
safety of our pet, other animals, people, and property.
A pet also needs frequent veterinary visits for vaccinations and worming, plus illnesses occur.
Are you going to have the money for this? Can you afford
to buy pet food? Do you have the patience needed to give your pet
the best care possible and maybe give up some items or time to achieve this goal?
Pets offer companionship, unconditional love, and devotion that far surpasses anything
ever imagined if given the chance. If you are lucky in your lifetime
you will have a bond with one special pet that will happen only once
and you will have no idea why or how that happened. All of my pets
hold a special place in my heart reserved just for them that another pet can
never take, each one is special for just them. You need a big heart,
plus must be versatile with every pet. Please try to consider all of these
things before acquiring a pet, plus make a commitment to that pet for
the duration of that pet’s life.
If you buy a purebred, adopt, or rescue, there will be many
problems that need to be overcome, check into the breed’s history, ask
questions of the breeder, shelter, previous owner, or rescue, get information on line
or from your local library. Talk to a veterinarian, friend, or buy books
pertaining to pet care, acquire as much information available to help you get
started on the “right foot” and stay there. A well-informed
and dedicated pet owner will reap rewards from a well-adjusted and
loved pet. Good luck on your endeavor, nothing beats coming home to a happy,
tail wagging “best friend”.
