Star Cluster Geography

The Jewel Cluster is a collection of Seven Stars; Amethyst, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Ruby, Jade and Topaz, which form a cluster of systems all within ten light years of each other, and all having Yellow Suns. Each of the systems has one life bearing world (two in Sapphire’s case), as well as various gas giants, rockballs, and a few asteroid belts. Humans live everywhere in the Cluster where they can find either resources or a place to put their feet down since space travel is quick and easy in cluster ships.

Starting at 16 Light Years out from the Cluster center (Sapphire), there are other inhabited systems.

Where a variety of other species of humanoids live, and which are either affiliated or allied with the cluster in some way to some 200 light years distance. Although these are mere affiliations or trade alliances, none of these worlds is ruled by the Cluster leadership. (There are, however, several protectorates, and a number of Cluster Colonies which do fall under Rover jurisdiction, however.)

Beyond that line, little is known, except that coreward lies the Dark Nebula, and there are races and empires outside known space which have not yet fully shown themselves. The Navy has a number of deep space ships investigating various leads in this area.

Of the major allies outside the cluster, the most closely connected to the Cluster are the Lapin Alliance, The Ursus Confederation and the planet Felin, and there have even been immigrants from these and some other worlds onto Cluster worlds.
