Hikkaduwa and The Beaches of the South-West Coast!
In YALA National Park you will see the elephants strolling near you!
After the highlands we go to the south - to the coast.
- it's a long way and this is what you will see. Before you arrive at Hikkaduwa you will see these fishermen. They sit on bamboo poles in the sea and are fishing in this way. These poles and the place where it is situated is handed down from father to son- in case there is no son, the son-in-law inherrit the place.
In Beruwela you will meet this friendly elephant. He is strolling the beaches along with his master.
HIKKADUWA is famous for its sea turtles. You can see them a few metres out of the coast- and if you are snorkeling you can meet them in sea! here you can see one when we visited the turtle hatchery- but this is a big one!
