|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
I wanted to include a page about animals, because some animals are so cool, and most people like some type of animal. I'm not the kind of person that likes pets, really, but I like to watch animals and learn about some of them, and, learn from them, in some cases. Anyway, the following are my favourites...

Armadillo | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
I don't know why I like this animal so much; I just do, and I always have. I like the way they look, and the way they move. Unfortunately they are not very fast, and are often ran over on highways. I've only seen one armadillo, so far, in my lifetime, in person; it was alive and burrowing for food in the ground. Here are a few facts about armadillos that may interest you: 1) the armadillo is the only creature, except humans, that can contract leprosy, and 2) when an armadillo has a litter, they always have four, and they are always of the same sex. |

Baboon | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
I like baboons because of their playful nature, and how they incorporate that nature into their style of defense and protecting their families. I had the opportunity to see some baboons that were drunk on fermented fruit from some tree.. Have you ever seen the teeth on these animals? Wow! They are more like monster fangs. I think I also like these types of monkeys because they have a unique look to them. They sort of resemble dogs or rodents. They hardly look like monkeys at all, in my opinion. There is a type of baboon that faints whenever it sees a certain type of snake, which is not a poisonous snake nor a vicious one. When it faints, it has temporary amnesia for a few minutes after waking up. A great example of this can be found within a superb documentary film called "Animals Are Beautiful People" (which I should have put on my favourite movies list).. If you can find the movie, rent it. It's full of cool and comical info about many animals that inhabit Africa, and it's for the whole family. It's entertaining, unlike some documentaries, that are just info with no examples. |

Capybara | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This animal is found in South America, and it is the largest rodent. The average height of a capybara is about 30 inches, with a length of about 36 inches. They are somehow part of the guinea pig family. They are quiet animals, and don't like crowds very much, but at the same time, they don't seem to mind. They have rough fur, and they live in small cavernous-type homes.. I don't know if they make these homes, or find them and add their own flourishes. I think they eat hay. I don't know much about them, but I like them. I almost got to pet one once.

Emu | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This large bird, resembles an ostrich, but is a darker colour. This is the second largest bird in the world. They cannot fly, but they can swim, strangely enough. They are very curious animals. They seem to like to investigate where people are enjoying themselves. They are pretty comfortable around people, most all of the time. They seem to accept things as they are. Not too long ago, I actually almost ran over one. It was hanging out on the side shoulder of the road, and I drove right by it. Luckily it was not scared. It just kept bobbing its head around, like I never even passed by it. A strange animal that is strangely likeable. |

Frilled Lizard | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This lizard, found in Australia, is a bit of a sorry excuse for a wild animal. It has no real defense. When it gets scared, it spreads out its fins to appear angry and dangerous, and to also seem bigger than it actually is. It will then run off, when its attacker backs up to cosider the new look of the lizard. Sometimes frilled lizards will even run toward their enemies, kamikaze-style, to try to scare them, but they are taking a great risk when they do that.

Manta Ray | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Manta rays are graceful and gentle, just like birds, only underwater. Grey on top to blend in with most of the ocean floor, and white on the bottom to mix in with the sunlight from above; either way, from above of below they're camoflauged from most danger that might lurk in their midsts. Not to be confused with the poisonous and vicious Stingray, which has a spiny tail full of poison injectors, the Manta Ray is almost the most gentle and friendly sea creature, second only to the dolphin. They are larger than most people think, sometimes (but rarely) reaching up to 19 ft. long and 23 ft. across. They are also known as "devil fish" or "sea devils" for some reason and they can jump completely out of the water if they want to. |

Penguin | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
I think this is the one animal on my page that is an animal that most other people like, but, what's not to like? They are funny, gentle, entertaining, and smooth. The way these animals move is so much fun to watch, and not always found in cold weather climates. They balance their eggs on their feet and walk with them. They also do this with round stones, which they use as a type of gift for a potential mate. I've always wondered what it is like to feel one's skin/feathers? A fun and cool animal. |

Rhino | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
I like these animals, because they are playful, yet dangerous. These animals are gentle, but can be belligerent at about any moment. If they see a campfire, they will run toward it, and then stamp it out.I don't know why they do this, perhaps because they feel endangered, and their amored bodies can withstand the fire. I've heard this animal referred to as "what has become of the unicorn". Other than that, I don't know anything about this animal. |

Roadrunner | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This is the one animal on my page which is native to where I live. I think these are a very underated and overlooked bird. They are very cautious, careful, skittish creatures and clever. They move in a very unusual way, as well. They run a few feet, then stop, then run a few feet, then stop, and each time they run, they lift their tail seconds before they move their feet. Also, they eat snakes, believe it or not. This is how they do it: When they find a snake that is sleeping, they go pick cactus spines, and quietly set them up in the sand around the sleeping snake. Then they make a high-pitched chirp, which awakens and startles the snake. The snake expands and pushes it's body outward, to get ready to strike or protect itself, and when it does, it pushes its body into all of the strategically placed cactus spines. The multiple, simultaneous piercings, as well as the poison in the cactus spines cause the snake to go into shock and die very quickly. Then the roadrunner just starts eyeing what it wants to eat first. I find that very cool. One time a roadrunner visited me at one of my jobs, when it was a slow day. It must have been a rebel roadrunner, since they don't usually like people. |

Wallaby | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This Australian animal looks like a kangaroo, but is a bit smaller, though its tail is longer than a kangaroos. I think I like the wallaby, as opposed to the kangaroo, because I find them to be friendlier, and more trusting. They are not as open to new things or experiences but I still like them.
There is one more animal/creature I need to put a pic of on my page, but I have to wait a while to get it. It's a type of South American Treehopper, and it's the most unearthly creature I've ever seen, that actually exists. You must see it. Check back frequently. I'll have the photo up soon (I hope).
Well, there you have it, my Animals page. I hope you enjoyed it, and learned a few things
