Crunch is originally from Iceland, and before becoming wrestler he followed a traditional Icelandic sporting tradition by becoming a strongman, he was very succcessful in this sport winning many titles including Iceland's strongest man. However their wasn't much money to be made being a strongman so Crunch changed his career direction and became a professional wrestler in order to make more money. Crunch's first fed was the ZCW, he was very successful in this fed beating most of the top guys and eventually becoming the first ever ZCW intercontinental champion. Unfortunatly though on the same day as winning the title the ZCW closed down, but at least Crunch left the fed as a champion.
