KENNETH WRITES

This is from the 1997-98 Pensacola program, having to do with game 3 of the first round series between the Ice Pilots and Tallahassee. Pensaacola lead the series 2-0 at the time:

"With 7.6 seconds remaining and the Ice Pilots trailing 3-2, Tallahassee was called for having too many men on the ice. Rule 17b of the East Coast Hockey League Rule Book states that if a team is caught with too many men on the ice, and there is not enough time to serve the penalty, a penalty shot will be awarded to the other team. Hugo Belanger was called on to take the shot. He beat Tiger Sharks goalie Sonny Mignacca and forced overtime. In overtime, Kelly Hultgren scored the series-winning goal and sent the Tiger Sharks home."

That was the last playoff game in the history of the Tiger Sharks.
