"So what do we have to do?" Duo asked, bouncing eagerly on the balls of his feet, making his long trenchcoat sway. Heero stood silently beside him, glaring at the big cat pacing back and forth in its cage. Quatre stayed a safe distance away, huddling next to his boyfriend, casting the odd nervous glance towards the ferocious lion.
"Well," Trowa said with a resigned sigh, "I’m not going to sugarcoat this. Rama here ate the last guy who walked into his cage and has tried to take a bite out of me more than once. I don’t think I need to tell you you’d better be good." Right on cue, the big cat snarled and threw himself against the bars of the cage. Quatre meeped and hid behind Trowa. Neither Duo nor Heero batted a single eyelash.
"I’m giving you a chair, a bullwhip, and a gun before you go in," Trowa continued calmly. "Good luck."
"I’ll go first," Duo said confidently, shooting the taller boy a wink. He strolled right past the chair, the bullwhip, and the gun and stepped into the cage.
Rama, clearly unhappy at the intrusion, roared and crouched low, preparing to spring. Duo didn’t even flinch. Instead he quickly unbuttoned his long coat and tossed it aside, revealing his gorgeous body. Rama’s golden eyes went wide and he immediately threw himself at the braided boy’s feet and proceeded to fawn on him like an overgrown housecat.
Much stunned silence followed from the viewing audience.
"That’s incredible!" Quatre declared, amazed. "I’ve never seen anything like it!"
"I’m sorry, Heero," Trowa said, "But I’m not sure you can top that."
"Sure I can," Heero replied with a smirk. "Just get the lion out of the way."
