2007-2008, IN OUR 88TH YEAR OF SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITY!

The International Association of Lions Clubs, the world's largest service club organization, was founded in 1917 by Mr. Melvin Jones. All Lions Clubs work within the motto of:
WE SERVE.

The Saginaw (Michigan) Downtown Lions Club (District 11-D1), chartered May 17, 1920, is one of the oldest Lions Clubs in Michigan, which includes a long and storied history in Saginaw.



Major Community Projects


The Saginaw Downtown Lions Club offers several projects supporting individuals and programs throughout our community. Some of our annual projects include: The development and maintenance of Lions Park; Sponsoring the Junior Varsity Football Banquet, honoring the winner of the Little Brown Jug game between Arthur Hill High School and Saginaw High School; Participating in the P.R.I.D.E Christmas Parade; Sponsoring the annual Children's Christmas Party; Sponsoring local school participation in the International Peace Poster Contest; Assisting in the Salvation Army Kettle Drive; Supporting various sight conservation projects, including, providing eye examinations and eyeglasses, and the collection of used eyeglasses; Supporting Leader Dog School for the Blind, Welcome Homes for the Visually Impaired and other State and Lions International sponsored projects.
