FLAGS RAISED AT LIONS PARK
October 8, 1999

Saginaw, Michigan – Members of the Saginaw Downtown Lions Club raised flags at Lions Park in downtown Saginaw during a ceremony held Friday, October 8, 1999.  This milestone signifies the completion of an important phase of a four-year planning and re-development process of the grounds on the corner of E. Genesee and Jefferson in downtown Saginaw.

The property is a major community betterment project for the club, which acquired the land from the City of Saginaw for development into a park following the demolition of the former Feige building, located at the 500 block of E. Genessee Ave in Downtown Saginaw..

Soon the park will be identified with the placement of a permanent sign marking the history of the Saginaw Downtown Lions Club and the major contributors for the development of the park.

Lions Park provides the community beautiful landscape and a restful place among several trees, bushes and thousands of perennials.

Plans also include refurbishing and operating the water fountain on the West end of the park.

If you would like to donate any amount to the park for future plans and maintenance, your
tax-deductible donation can be made to the Saginaw Community Foundation and mailed to:
