Allow me to introduce myself. I am Victor C. Delos Reyes, Fine Arts graduate at UST in 1973, and major in Advertising. Hotel & Restuarant Management graduate at UP in 1975.
This website is design to give you some information of my past experience on board the vessel as a seaferrer. I started with Hanseatic Manning Agency, own and operated by Capt. Bauman. My first ship was M/V Nordholm in 1976 as Chief Cook.
I joined in France and we were only 3 Filipino's on board and the rest of the crew are Gilberts, with a German national Captain. In my first week, I felt homesick and seasick. I tried to be strong and my Faith in God gives me strength and overcome the situation. After a long navigation and battling the big waves of the seven seas we finally arrived on my first port of call. During that year our contract was 12 months and the only thing to survive and overcome of being homesickness is to enjoy and travel all over the world. Our vessel was a general cargo ship and mostly our destination is tramping (one country to another). |
