It all started, When Shawn learned that Angela was also in Mr. Feeny's class one day. One day when Angela raised her hand, the wind that followed, blew her sweet fragrance in Shawn's face, and that is when Shawn knew he had to talk to her.

After a while they became friends, through Topanga, since Angela and Topanga became really good friends earlier that year. A few days later Shawn and Angela started dating, but they both felt scared of relationships so they only made a two week commitment, so no one would get hurt in the relationship.

At Chubbie's when the two weeks were up... Angela: So I guess that's it, it's over. Shawn: Two weeks, you knew that going in. Angela: Yeah, I did, seeya. As she walks away, she looks back at Shawn one last time. Shawn was so unsure about real relationships. He never saw it work in his family so he also felt love was not real till... The next day Shawn finds a purse, with no identification in it but from what he found, he started to fall in love with the "Purse girl", and was determined to find the owner.

Jack gave Shawn a message saying she called and to meet him at Chubbie's, but Shawn was too scared of getting hurt and wanted the feeling to last longer. After a talk with Cory, he finally had the courage to meet her and as she walked down the stairs she was more beautiful than he ever imagined, but she already had a boyfriend and the proof he had was when the guy hugged her as she got the purse and that just broke Shawn's heart and he left quickly upstairs.

The next day at school, Shawn walked up to Cory with much anger and pain. Shawn: Don't ever talk to me about destiny or love again! I went there, she's got a boyfriend, Cory and you know what I feel? Pain, it's like my hearts been ripped out and stepped on! So do me a favor and stay out of my personal life! As he walks away, Angela and the purse girl (Beth) walk in and Beth hands Angela the stuff that was in the purse. Beth: Well, here's all your stuff back. Cory and Topanga look at each other knowing what the other was thinking.

The next day, against Shawn's wishes, Cory tells Shawn about the purse and mixup of the stuff being Angela's.

Shawn: We went out for two weeks. If I were in love with Angela, you don't think I'd know it? Cory: Angela's everything you've dreamed of, you just don't know because you haven't looked into her eyes yet, look into her eyes. Disbelieving, Shawn decides to take the benefit of the doubt and does what Cory told him to do, as he looks into her eyes he giggles and heads toward Cory "It's Angela."

Shawn looks in his black book and thinks "A, Angela, she's the first name in my book, she's the one I want, but a real relationship? That's so new to me."

With a push from Cory, Shawn asks Angela to go to Berellie's the following night and he explains how he really feels and how this is all new to him. Angela :I've never had a serious relationship either. Is someone going to get hurt here? Shawn :No, not if we're ourselves. After seeing Cory and Topanga have a little fight, Angela had fear again. Angela: This is what scares me, you get close to someone and you end up hating each other. Shawn: When two people are truly, truly in love there's no way they can hate each other. They see Topanga and Cory make up and see Cory throw her on the table and start kissing. Angela: Shawn? Shawn: Angela? Angela: I want what they have. That is when they have their first real kiss.

For a while they couldn't go one day without kissing each other and were getting into a real serious relationship. Which scares Shawn and he thinks he'll screw it up, so he turns to his old ways, wanting to "meet new people". During freshman orientation, he met a new girl named Cameron and they hit it off, which causes Shawn and Angela to break up. But we all saw this coming at the beginning of the season, when he thought they were not "hopelessly in love".

Angela had doubts about Cory's friendship after the break up and felt like they were never really friends, so she tested him by telling him the real story of the break up. Cory always thought it was mutual and after finding out he was shocked that Shawn did that to her but he had to promise never to tell anyone.

Cory just couldn't butt out of their lives because he was so determined to get them back together but all he caused was more trouble. He was always trying to interfere with accidental romantic rendezvous' and he went as far as reading a poem that Shawn wrote, not knowing it was about Angela. Shawn became so angry at Cory and their friendship seemed to grow more and more bleak everytime he interfered.

Shawn: Ok, How do I put this? Who do you think you are? Cory: Well that's a silly question, Shawn. I'm your best friend... Shawn: (Interrupts) No, No, No, No jokes, no back pedaling, look into my eyes, Cory, I am dead serious! We have a problem here. Cory: Alright, Shawn, I'm sorry, I did that, I.... Shawn: No, No that's not what I wanna hear, not this time! I wanna hear that you were wrong, that I asked you to back off and you wouldn't take No for an answer! (Furious) That you TOTALLY disregarded my feelings! You over did it this time, Cory. Cory: Alright! Alright, I get it! But I did... Shawn: Oh there better, there better not be a but! Cory: I did it for your own good. Shawn: You have no idea what my poetry is about, do you? That poem Mr. Feeny read in class do you even know what that was about? Nothing. Cory I can't say certain things, so I write them down, that's how I get them out. Now I do that for myself, and not for anyone else. Cory: I heard the poem, Shawn. Shawn: You heard it, but you didn't listen to it. That poem you just read, do you have any idea who that's about? Cory: Me? Shawn: It's about Angela, I wrote that for her. Cory: Well. ANGELA WHO OVER HEARS COMES OUT AND SLAPS SHAWN ACROSS THE FACE. Shawn: (To Cory) Thank You!

Christmas came and more tension grew between Shawn and Cory. The cause of it was Cory opened his mouth and accidently told Shawn about how Angela still loves him and by Cory, Angela found out that Shawn feels the same way.

Shawn: What? Cory: You kissed Angela. Shawn: Cory, don't make a big deal out of this. Cory: It is a big deal. SHAWN: No, it's not. Angela told me she's over me and we're just friends. Why won't you let this go? Cory: Angela still loves you and I know you wrote that poem for her after you broke up. Shawn: What? How do you know that? Cory: Someone told me, I mean no one told me, I mean I didn't say anything. Please don't take me to Topanga. Shawn: (Grabs Cory, brings him over to Topanga) Ok I wanna know what's going on here. Topanga what did you tell him? Topanga: Cory? Cory: Shawn, Angela still loves you and I know Topanga was telling you that Shawn loves you. Angela: (surprised) What?? Cory: Oh you didn't say anything to her, huh? Topanga: No, No I didn't. Cory: Umm hmm, huh, well I think this would be a good time. Angela: Somebody better start talking and I think it should be you and me. Shawn: Let's get outta here. SHAWN AND ANGELA LEAVE.

LATER AT STUDENT UNION Angela: So why can't we be honest about how we feel? Shawn: I don't know, It's confusing, huh? Angela: Yeah, we broke up, we were supposed to move on. Shawn: Yeah, the next thing we know we're kissing under the missletoe. Angela: And Cory tells us how we should feel. Shawn: When we're not even sure ourselves. Angela: Oh no, Shawn, I love you, I've always loved you, I was just waiting for you to be sure how you felt. Shawn: Well, when we broke up, I thought I wanted to be free, but I couldn't stop thinking about you. Now that scares me. I don't know what to do with these feelings. Angela: You give into them Shawn, because then you know that someone that you love, loves you back, isn't that what you want? Shawn: You are a wonderful person, Angela. Angela: Isn't that what you want? Shawn: I don't know what I want, ok, I'm so confused, I don't, I really don't think I'm ready. Angela: (hurt) I opened my heart to you. I can't just stand around like a fool, waiting for you to be ready. Shawn: Angela. Angela: (took his hands; nods) Done, it's over Shawn. ANGELA LEFT LEAVING SHAWN IN DESPAIR

Shawn decided that the only way Cory would stay out of their business, was to draw up a restraining order against him. He even started to date but ended up missing Angela more.

Shawn went through a lot of changes and rough times that year, he lost his father, left town to find himself but he came back in time to hear that Joshua was in medical trouble and that is when he knew who his real family was.. the Matthew's, but the pain never seemed to end, he missed Angela so much he could hardly stand it.

Finally when Shawn had decided that he wanted to love Angela, Angela was the one who was afraid of love when Topanga's parents filed for a divorce and Topanga lost faith in love to Cory. She was even more afraid when her dad came to town to see her.

Shawn: Angela, I understand about your mother..and I understand about why you were afraid of our relationship. Angela : No, There is no relationship. Look, you don't know what you are talking about. Shawn : Hey, he told me, ok. Angela : Oh no, how could you do that? Shawn : How could you not tell me? Angela : That my mother walked out on me just like your mother walked out of you? Shawn : Yes, don't you think I'd understand? Don't you think that would've brought us closer together? Angela : Yes. I don't want to be closer together. Shawn: Why not? Mr. Moore : Yeah, why not? Angela : Because I don't wanna hurt you. Shawn: What are you talking about? You're already killing me. How are you gonna hurt me more if you love me? Angela : I can't love you. Shawn : Why not? Angela : (Breaks down) Because.. Shawn : Because why? Angela : Because I'll leave you! (She walks away but her father stops her.) Mr. Moore : No, no, no! Do not surrender to this. I did not raise a daughter to surrender. You are not your mother, you are you. The difference between your mother and you was she was not in love, you are. Angela : Oh, daddy, I'm so sorry. (her dad kisses her hand) Mr. Moore : It's ok, I'm ok, but this is about you. I want you to be happy but how can you be happy if you are afraid to tell the man you love that you love him? Angela : (Angela turns to Shawn and slowly walks up to him)I love you. I love you so much. (They Hug) I just don't wanna hurt you anymore. Shawn : I love you too, I always have. Mr. Moore : You take care of my daughter, young man.

They were together. That's all that mattered to them, to spend time with each other and love each other. Everything was going just great till her father came back to town with news.

SGT. Moore: I've been reassigned, Angela. Angela: Near here? SGT. Moore: I have to go to Europe. Angela: That's not near here. How long will you have to be there? SGT. Moore: A year. Angela: A year? Daddy that's forever. SGT. Moore: Not if you come with me.

So Angela was put in a position to choose between her true love or her father who she never gets to see.
Angela: I could never leave you. Shawn: And I could never leave you. Angela: Unless you told me I could. Shawn: What? Angela: When will I ever have a chance like this to be with my father?

Shawn then confronted SGT. Moore and explained how he feels for her.

Shawn: She's not leaving, Sir. I'm gonna tell her I want her to stay, and she will. She wants to be with me. SGT. Moore: Shawn, she's leaving with me. Shawn: I thought you were my friend. SGT. Moore: We are friends. Shawn: Yeah? Well what kind of friend puts us together and rips us apart because he wants to go to Europe? SGT. Moore: That was never my intention, Shawn. Shawn: No? Then what was your intention? Becasue you are taking her away from her friends and the person she loves. She has a life here. How can you do this to her? SGT. Moore: I want what's best for Angela. Shawn: I'm what's best for her. I'm here for her every single day of her life. Can you say that sir? SGT. Moore: No. I can't. Shawn: Well, I can. And I know what that's worth because the people who loved me never were. Not my mother or my father. SGT. Moore: I'm sorry that happened to you, Son. Shawn: You know, I went away once. SGT. Moore: Angela told me about that. Shawn: Hmm, mmm. I left everyone who meant anything to me. That's what brought me back. When I realized there was nothing out there that was important as the poeple who are there for your every day! SGT. Moore: I know how you feel Shawn. I've spent far too much time away from my daughter. This may sound selfish, but I'm not gonna let anything get in the way of that. Shawn: This may sound selfish, but what if I asked her to marry me?

Angela came in and he was about to ask her to marry him when... Shawn: When you love somebody enough, it's okay to be a little selfish, Angela. Angela: Thank you for letting me be selfish, Shawn. Shawn: No. Not you. Me. I need to ask you something right now. Angela: Because you're the only person in the world who understands how important it is for me and my father to spend this time together. I only wish you and your dad had the same chance, Shawn. Thank you for giving me my chance. Shawn was stunned but he knew that she wanted to be with him.

THE FINAL FAREWELL:

Angela: I know you said no goodbyes. So I'll just say I love you. Shawn: I love you too, Angela. I always will. (They hug) Take care of her, sir. SGT. Moore: You're a good man, Shawn. Thank you for giving my daughter and me this chance. Shawn: Well, I know how important it is. ANGELA AND SGT. MOORE EXIT. Shawn: Goodbye, Angela.

That's the crazy thing about LOVE, once you find it, you never want to let it go, but sometimes you are just forced to. It's sad but it happens. It happened to the most sweetest love birds on Boy Meets World!
