So you want to be an actor?

Congratulations. Acting is an incredibly joyous and enriching craft.

But it is also one of the most difficult professions to succeed in. Most people fail. And an actor who works all year in the theatre can still end up with under 30 grand in take home. So entering this profession expecting financial gain is a toughie.

Ask yourself the following question first:

Do you have to be an actor?

Don't answer off the cuff.

Is being an actor worth starving yourself? Both to keep a perfect body AND because your money is going for various lessons rather than food.
Are you willing to be judged every time you audition?
Are you willing (as ALL actors must be) to hear NO 99% of the time?
Are you willing to work for money that is often below minimum wage just to make contacts?
Are you willing to live out of hotels?

I think you get the idea. And since you're still reading, the answer is probably yes. So what follows are answers to various questions I've heard in my seminars that might help you out......
