| This scene is on the shelf above the Mermaid's Pool. In this diorama, Barbie is having a party in her newly landscaped garden. Let me give you a few hints as to what everything is made from. The fence is a section cut from a plastic roller blind. The tree in the centre back is the top part of one of those plastic commercial Christmas trees. The yellow flower container along the back of the fence (right) is half of one of those child's stacking cups - it looks just like half a barrel - I have yet to paint it a more realistic color. The little gnome comes from a baking supply store. Can you see the rain gauge above his head. The cat sitting on the fence is merely a hand drawn picture, colored black, cut out and stuck on the fence. The grass, I begged from the lawnmowe department of a hardware store. And Kira/Marina is holding a purple Chenille Teddy that someone so kindly put on the "net", the instructions to make them. The next photograph is another view of The Garden. |
