THE BOUTIQUE
I had an ex fashion shop cosmetic display stand given to me by two friends and it is ideal to house some of my dolls - high enough for the dolls to stand on the shelves, wide and deep enough to set up a small diorama - so that is just what I did.  And here is the first photograph.
The doll is a Bead Blast Barbie and she is wearing an outfit made myself from a Terry Fox design for adult women.  I hand-sewed all the braiding aroud the empire seam, the blazer edge and the edge of the hat brim and around the crown.  The white rose on the blazer is a purchased notion.
The column on the left is merely a kitchen paper tube glued onto a card cone.  The head on top is part of the 1983 Barbie Dream Store collection - as is the bag/jewelry display stands on the right of the photo and some of the small accessories.  The table in the centre is merely a piece of plexiglass on two cake columns.  And that fancy little cosmetic display case on top of the Barbie unit is a container that holds the toothbrushes upright on supermarket shelf.
Looking at this photograph, I can see that it lacks a background of some sort.  If you have any ideas, please share.

This is another view of the Boutique.  The sales assistant is Cher from Clueless.  The shop counter is a C-curved piece of plexiglass - ex jewellry store display unit.  I put another piece of plexiglass on the top and a piece of Balsa wood for the centre shelf.  When I change this diorama, I am going to put a piece of plexiglass in place of the balsa wood.
Barbie is wearing a "fur" coat I made.
Here is a back view of the lovely Terry Fox dress

I will replace this photo with a clearer one at a later stage.
