SLEEPING ON CLOUD 9
I really would not mind sleeping in a bedroom like this.  Duck Egg Blue sky (walls) with clouds floating by.  A deep fluffy white cloud (carpet) to step out of bed onto.  All very dreamy.

This room is as described above, but I wanted something else as well.  I saw some pictures of different ballerinas in the flyleaf of a book and made an enlarged copy - I spent about a week cutting out 17 of these tiny ballerinas - then spent another week gluing them onto the clouds - the result was worth all efforts tho.  (Yes, I promise to put pics up very soon).  The furniture is the same furniture I won on that raffle, way back in 1978, except for the Kist or Hope Chest that my dad made for me and the display cabinet that I made myself.  The display cabinet was made from a box that held tea candles and a glass to put the candles in - it was just the right size for what I wanted.  The end that held the glass cup was a bit of a wasted space, so I made a cardboard drawer to fit into the space.  All I needed to do was polish the box with furniture polish to bring up a golden glow and then make the drawer - Oh, Yes!  I put in two glass shelves to display the dancers on.

All the tiny ballerinas that are standing on all available shelf space are either cake decoration dolls, or music box dolls.  I also have some resin ballerinas on the dressing table.  I spent hours painting and repainting those tiny little dolls until I was satisfied with the results - I even made two of them dancing skirts.

The comfortable looking armchair standing in front of the dressing table is made from two styrofoam tubs, glued together and covered with foam and fabric to look as it does.

To finish this room, all I need to do is put up a dado rail around the lower bit of the room - this is going to made from net curtaining and then I am going to hang some net curtaining from the ceiling to give the effect of a cloud above the room.

The dimensions of this room are the standard 40cm x 55cm, and 65cm from side to side.

My one and only Sindy doll resides in this room.

Since this photograph was taken, I have changed the furniture in this room - I put in the white plastic 1970s Sindy bedroom suite - the bed, dressing table and wardrobe - I put in a chevel mirror (brand unknown), the armchair pictured above and I made a small hope chest, painted it white and put the front of the cabinet indicated by the arrow above, on the front of the hope chest.  The whole room now looks much airier and not so heavy as the wooden furniture seems to make the room (I was worried Sindy would fall thru her cloud)
I will probably use the wooden furniture in another room.  Go to page 2 to see pics of the new room.
