PSP helps & hints

I was unable to use most of the tubes I have downloaded, so I haven't been using tubes much.  I finally discoverd that they need to be introduced to psp by bringing them up in psp, using the "File" tab at the left corner of psp.
If the tube consists of just a single image, all you need to do is make sure your image is active, go to "File", "export to tubes", give it a name, and that should do it.  If you have multiple images in a tube, you really should separate them and enter them one at a time as single images so they are ready to use.  To do that, duplicate your image as many times as you have images, plus one, then delete your original image.  You can duplicate by going to "Windows" and using "duplicate" in the dropdown menu.  Use your  "selections" tool to select an image for tubing, go to "image", "crop", then make sure that the newly cropped image is active, go to "File', "export tube", name it, click "OK" and you are done with that one.  Go back and do the rest of the images in that tube the same way and they will be ready for use when you want them.
If you have a tube you want to leave with multiple images,  I will try to explain how to do that later.
Another thing about tubes, they don't NEED to be put in PSP and the way I figure it, the less you have in there, maybe the less trouble you will have with it.  So, I have my tubes in a folder labeled TUBES on my desktop.  Having your folder on your desktop makes it easy to move your tubes so you can keep the number of tubes at a minimum and when they have to load each time you click on the tube tool to use it the load time will be reduced to a minimum.  When you make your surplus folder on your desktop to put extra tubes in, don't label it tubes, give it a name like tubes_2 or anything else because even tho it may be burried in another folder PSP will find it.

Introducing tubes to psp 7
I am so excited.  I just made this beetle using a tutorial.  If you would like to try your hand at this tutorial click the picture. I will warn you it is more difficult than the rest of the tutorials I have attempted.  You are working with vectors.

Paintshop pro7 is know for crashing, so in order to alieviate this problem as much as possible, you can remove most of the stuff from the folders in psp and place them in folders on your desktop and use them from there.  It also makes it easier to cull the tubes so you don't have to load so many every time.  To do this you need to open PSP 7--click the "File"tab in the upper left corner, go down to preferences, over to file preferences.  You can remove the tubes, frames, patterns &, textures,  gradients, and  masks.  Click the tab for tubes, fill in the appropriate blank with the appropriate information, click "subfiles".  Do this for the frames, patterns & textures, gradients, and masks tabs each individually. You will need to remember where you have put these files, I have them all stuffed into one file I have labeled "need for psp".  I have also stuffed some clipart in that folder along with whatever else I think I will need to use on an everyday basis in psp.
