Simply sandi's Make your own mask-frame |
Find a graphic you want to use, it should have a main center of attraction. Duplicate it and close the original. Good habit to get into, I lost a graphic by not doing that. Now give it a name and save it and don't forget, save often in case psp decides to crash. Open a new image 500 x 500. Set foreground color to black, background to null. Click on the preset shapes tool, pick "star 4", size 25, antialias checked. Click your image at about 15-15 and pull to about 485-485. Go to geometric, twirl, 720 degreees, ok. You have now made the mask you are going to use for this tutorial. If you think you might want to use it in the future, save it now. You can minimize it after saving if you want to get it out of your way. 1. Make your original graphic active, promote to layer, (I do this so I can move it around later if I don't like the placement of the mask). 2. Add a layer, flood with a complimentary color. 3. Go to mask, new from image, pick the mask you just made from the dropdown. I had to click invert mask, ok. 4. Masks, delete. 5. Selections, select all, selections, float. 6. Effects, fine leather. I used custom 3, feel free to use what you like. Ok. 7. Effects, inner bevel, choose "bead" (or your own choice). 8. Selections invert. (If you have trouble here with everything being flood filled, redo go to selections contract 2 and try again.) 9. Click on flood tool, set to rgb value (don't forget to reset it to none next time you want to fill lots of spaces at once) flood with gradient, (I made a gradient using colors from my graphic) 10. Effects, texture, fine leather, custom 3 (or your choice).. 11. drop shadow, v & h 2, opacity 100, blur 4.9. You might want to adjust the positioning of your main grapic now. If you do, when done, shut all layers but layer 1, if there is any transparent area click with magic wand and floodfill with gradient you used for mask layer so you won't have bright white showing thru. If you are happy with it, merge all layers 12. Add border of 5, use magic wand to activate your new border, floodfill with gradient ( I made another gradient using colors in my graphic). 13. Effects, drop shadow, v & h 2, 2.5 blur 100 opacity. 14. Add border of 25, click new border with magic wand to activate. 15. Floodfill with gradient (used same gradient as on mask), 16. While still active, go to effects, reflections, kaleidoscope, settings left side are -31, -10, 39, 6 and on right side 4, 0, 37. 17. Selections, Invert, use same drop shadows as before. 18. Add border 5, click on new border with magic wand to activate it,(I inverted the gradient I used on first border of 5) using gradient, floodfill. 19. Effects, drop shadow using same as before but +2 only. If you need help with this tutorial just email me, I have not provided screen shots so this tutorial will download quickly. |
