Brings To Mind: Cocteau Twins

Artistic Presentation: The music itself is nice, almost watery, and too slow for dance. There are 14 long songs so you have plenty of time to zone out, or tune in, or both. My first reaction to the CD when I finished listening to the whole release was that it was THIS close to being a perfect CD to play for a massage or guided meditation session. The few things that would make me decide against it are voice dubbed overlays and some urban sounding noise artfully woven into the music. But then Sans Arc made me rethink what it is use sound scape music, which is to quiet your mind so you can focus on what your body is feeling while tuning into your surroundings. The music you buy for massage, relaxation or meditation is usually so esoteric it doesn't fit into the world as we know it, because no one lives in a utopia where the only sounds you hear are waterfalls and birds. Sans Arc's Irradiate could be a more suitable sound scape for a deep mind body experience because it's a truer reflection of the world we have to live in every day, urban noise and all.
