Beowulf finishes washing his hands and leaves the restroom, muttering about the poor quality of the airline food and shaking his head. he sits down next to raven and says, "so, tell me about yourself? what's your opinion on supernatural beings?"

Jimmy Raven responds,"Myself you already know a bit about. As for supernatural beings, I'm well educated on the subject. I make a concerted effort to eliminate the supernatural evil of the world. In case you're not fully prepared for what we might face, take this."

He hands him The Book of Night (or whatever it was called.)

"This has some pertinent information on the dangers of the place known as the Nightlands. So tell me about yourself. Our editor said you were a psychic of some sort?"

(Conversation ensues and information is exchanged, lap top is used and THEN...)

Engrossed in watching the cinematic terror that is The Towering Inferno, Dr. Hu barely notices as Jimmy Raven plops down in the seat next to her.

"Dr Hu, I couldn't help noticing your condition," he says gaining her full attention. "What *is* the matter with you? Here look for yourself," he continues as he pulls out a large mirror from underneath his trenchcoat and holds it in front of her face.

The reflection in the mirror shows that Dr. Hu is very pale and famished looking. She also notices etched upon her forehead is a glowing green dollar sign.

Dr. Hu furrows her brow at the mirror and says to Jimmy, "I feel fine, is this some sort of prank mirror or something?" and then she feels her forehead to check for any maladies, and to see if anything wipes off. "Maybe it's the lighting in here."

"Well I suppose that could be it. I don't suppose you could help me do some internet research before we reach england?" Jimmy asks.

"Sure, I can help you search the net. What do you want to find?" Dr. Hu says as she gets her laptop computer from her carry on luggage.

SETUP FOR GROUP AT AIRPORT:

You three are all currently seated at the Gate 13 waiting area at London Internatioal airport. You are each employees of the After Midnight News Agency, a supermarket tabloid dealing with sensationalistic news in the paranormal.

Grace Clemence (Played by Justin) is the widow of one of the paper's most recognized investigative journalists who recently died under mysterious circumstances. She is also a major stock holder in Gnatison Media Corporation, publisher of the paper. Using this leverage she has muscled her way into gaining employment there and considers this to be her first case. Being on holiday in England didn't hurt matters either. She is here to oversee the investigation and make sure the report is filed by its deadline.

(Silent Researcher) played by Mark has an avid interest in the arcane and has recently been hired by the paper as a researcher and compiler of their muli-media library. He's been sent with Ms. Clemence as a personal assistant, gopher, researcher, odd technical jobs, etc. This case is primarily to get his feet wet.

(Karl) played by Kevin has been a long time employee of the After Midnight News Agency working in computer repair and odd mechanical jobs here and there. Being a former gang member also helps on jobs that require some extra muscle whether to coax some information out of a witness or help open a door that happens to be locked. He's here as hired muscle, bodyguard and for leg work.

You three have been in London three days now staying at the Four Seasons hotel on the paper's account. You're here for a follow up story on a madman killer who claims he's Jack the Ripper. Arrested by British Bobbies just last week after he murdered a prostitute, it took five men to pin him down and he was wearing authentic articles of clothing from the 1800's. He has since been confined to Medica Institute for the Criminally Insane, a building 10 miles from the airport, 15 from the hotel. Hours: 9am to 6pm. Ann Appleton, writer of the original story, had these things to tell you as reference before jaunting off to Germany for another story.

"Since you people are here now I can run off. It's all print out on these notes here. "Jack" is a complete mystery to the police, that's why they threw him into the asylum. They've no idea who he is. No past record. Nadda. I've heard rumors that he's managed to temporarily escape once now but they caught him on the property grounds. The British authorities are looking for assitance from any psychics or paranormal investigators. That's where we come in. I caught up with one lady who's a reputable psychic here in England who visited "Jack" yesterday. She reported that his room was filled with, 'evil energies' and her brief statement afterwards was, quote, 'What manner of man is this, if he is truly human. His thoughts...his mind...unspeakable evil. His entire essence radiates hate and a lust to mutilate and kill. I'm sorry but I can not go back in there again.' She's since refused to help the cops any farther and now's the perfect opportunity for the paper to move in, grab a great story and help out if we can. That's all I know. Good luck to ya'll."

She then ran off leaving you with the above notes, a hand drawn map to the Medica Institute, a phone number for there and phone number for the police station, and a copy of her original article.

You now await the arrival of Dr. Hu, the paper's on the call scientific collaborator. Jimmy Raven, freelance columnist and cameraman and in house psychic, Jack Beowulf. Their plane is running behind it seems. It's 6pm in the evening.

OOC: (Out Of Character) You now may talk among yourselves or whatever you like. The game has begun. (Yes you each get paid for your jobs. Standard fees upon completion of the assignment. Deadline for this story is a week from today, Monday in the game. Experience rewarded at the end of the adventure. Yes Mark and Kevin your characters were randomly chosed, rolled, created and generated. Hope everyone enjoys.)

IN THE AIRPORT:

Grace says: "I think we should get over to the psychic, and get a character interview to start the story off with. I'll try to get her to say that "Jack" is obviously a space alien here to steal the lock ness monster since they don't have any on their planet."

Karl Padimone says: "Sounds like a plan. But should we not wait for our fellow cohorts, Dr. Wu and Jimmy Raven?"

BACK ON THE PLANE:

Dr. Hu logs onto the World Wide Web and under Jimmy Raven's direction locates the website that supposedly deals with Latin magick invocations. Typing swiftly and assuredly she breaks through into the page's HTML coding and using examination skills that comes with years of experience is able to determine that the host site of the page lies somewhere in Minnesota. Logic dictates that somewhere in that state also lies the person behind the page.

Suddenly the coding dissapears and a new page loads with the words, "Don't you want somebody to love?" A blinking cursor is sitting right below the line as if waiting for a typed reply...

"Please buckle your seat belts and return to your seats passengers. We're gonna be coming in for a landing in approximately 3 minutes to London International Aiprort. Thank you for flying Delta Air and.." the pilot drones on.

"While Raven seats himself, he suggests to Dr. hu that it might be the lyrics from a song. "I believe the next line is, 'Don't you need somebody to love?' Perhaps it's a code. If you don't have any better ideas why don't you try that?" Raven then buckles himself into his seat, and closely scrutinizes the computer screen.

"Well, let's give it one try before we go land here and I have to stow my computer." Dr Hu says as she quickly types in "Don't you need somebody to love?" to the computer...<<<

The computer screen sits silently for a few seconds then suddenly goes dark and a new page appears stating, "Congratulations comrade of the arts. Thou art worthy of the knowledge that this page can bestow. Read below for the incantations to Raze the Fiery Depths and its counterpart, Prolong the Hellfire. As you know the information is too sacred for the non chosen and as such will be written in the True Tongue."

Below is a full two pages of text supposedly written in Latin.

"Now initiating final approach. Thanks for flying Delta and hopefully I'll see some of you fine folks in the London International Airport bar. Or as they call it here, a 'tavern'," the pilot says.

The plane rocks as its landing gear hits the pavement and the plane slowly begins to come to a stop.

Dr. Hu bookmark's the page, saves the document as text, yadda yada yada... shuts down the computer and puts it away.
