The Southern Alberta Working Herding Dog Association was formed in the summer of 1990. Our mandate is to educate its members in all thing canine. Our members bring with the varied interests and as such, we have enjoyed all sorts of activities. We have held obedience seminars, tracking seminars, agility seminars, handling seminrs, draft dog seminars, herding clinics, scent hurdle racing and flyball seminars with prominenet trainers from Canada and the USA. Why, we even held a Square Dancing seminar and have done a day of Lure Coursing!!!
Our members and their dogs participate in pet therapy programs and parades. Every year one contingent travels to local schools and hosts "Santa Paws and the Reindogs" a photography session which is super popular and bring our dogs and our clubs some positive PR. |
