This is a "Stroked" chevy. It's been with me since I first came into this world. These last two years I have poured all my heart and soul into building a new 383 to replace my original 350, I have no regrets but I have really had a hard time with this project. Luck has not been with me since the start but things have only been improved to the max every time something went wrong. this truck is equipped with three amplifiers, 10 speakers, and an alpine dvd navigation unit, as well as a playstation 2. The engine has been one hell of roller coaster ride, its been blue printed, decked, completely balanced, ported, and bored 30,000 over. New "world" high flow heads, new camshaft "crower" mild, edel brock double roller timing chain, holly "street dominator" intake manifold with the "winner" stamp straight from the factory, an "afp" carter type carburetor from edel brock, 1958 corvette valve covers, full MSD ignition system, optima battery "yellow top", high flow water pump, chrome 160 amp alternator, new pwr steering pump, Doug Thorly headers, titanium spark plugs, an AFP steel braided fuel line with 12mm micron fuel filter and a fuel gauge, K&N air and oil filter. The truck is extremely calm at idle but as soon as you punch it the sound is not like your regular V8 its more of a throaty race car sound, thanx to the intake and exhaust manifolds. I have encountered problems with the heads it seems the brand new heavy duty cast iron heads have developed a hole inside them in only 700 miles. Im not too happy about it but at this point two years of modifying every single part and having too many brand new parts not work out of the box, nothing surprises me now. August 14,02 i finally got a hold of an old friend of mine and he is hooking me up a new set of heads. finaly things are starting to look up, he is selling me this new pair for $600. They are an upgrade from what i had, im going from 194 world heads to a higher flow of 202, still world heads but not the bottom of the product line. These new heads should give me an increase of 40 horse power so i would be goin from 410 HP to 450 HP. its hard for me to imagine right now but i cant wait!! |
