AND IT CAME TO PASS... 10/5/03 Fe reports... We had a lot of fun and surprises. Sr. Soledad Perpinan, Sr. Ellen (Ms. Elenita Bernardo, our Grade 4 teacher), and Sr. Mary Rose (current SBS principal) graciously accepted our invitation. Kooch was the emcee and she was really in a high mood ... even the nuns decided to give her a special award for giving life to the party. Most of us were in our mini skits (reliving the 70s fashion). Sr. Soledad gave a lengthy inspirational message ...and later in the program Sr. Soledad challenged the DI's to a boogie number which she did with much gusto - Unfortunately walang next generation na nagpresent ng number. I am sure though that the next generation are as equally talented as their moms but not as KAPAL - Shy sila to show their talents. The rains poured even before the 'THe Who Are We' could belt out their song number. We were forced to cramp ourselves inside the living room. Small space to dance - The raffle got the loudest shrieks - 'Save the best for last'... it was Aida SP and Pilar whose names remained in the box with 2 prizes left. (4th prize - an oven toaster, and a tv set for 1st prize) ... and the winner is... everyone held their breath...and the winner is... Pilariza - we were all very happy for her - she worked so hard for the affair and she really deserved it. Sheila, you were right about the memorabilia -. Aida - who brought all the yearbooks, Kooch with her album of letters from classmates, and myself, with my report cards from grade 1-HS including my gold medal, my id and name plate in HS, etc. The 3 of us won the best memorabilia award. Guess what, I almost got 2 prizes for the memorabilia - remember the album you made for me? The sisters thought it was included in the contest they gave it the Number One prize. Actually, I did not intend it to be part of the memorabilia contest, kasi naman, di ako gumawa ano. Ang galing mo talaga mo talaga, Sheila! I was hoping to win the best 70s attire too (swapang talaga). My mom brought out all my clothes out of the cabinet including my pair of boots (from the 70's) Ang nagkasya na lang ay yung kaftan blouse and black miniskit plus the boots. I really like I just came out of the pages of 70's history book. You should also have seen Kooch and Lou Flores. But the nuns had something else in mind - the girls who did not wear miniskits won the best attire. Well, I should have known better. Aida SP, won the prize followed by Pilar and Bing Lara. ... There were some who promised to come but did not make it- so na-overshoot sa budget. Lessons learned but it was worth it. |
